More like someone jamming a needle filled with steroids into his butt! LOL

LOL! I think those huge Italian cheese wheels help build muscle also. Not by eating it, just by trying to move those big bastard cheeses. I once knew a baggage handler who worked at an airport and he refused to handle bags off a plane coming from Italy. It seems all the Italians stuff their suitcases with these huge cheeses and the bags each weigh a freakin ton and a half!

Instead of weights some of them lift dead bodies with cement shoes on that have been soaking in the LI sound for a few weeks. That will put some muscle on you for sure! LOL
-
OK, this interesting. What doing with you mentioning Norm Crosby??? The only thing I know about him was that he is a comedian and I think he is partially deaf. Now please explain the rest. LOL

Geno, I'm sure there might be some muscle bound guys who have good stamina, but in general for those who put in an equal amount of time exercising, the ones who concentrate on the cardio will win on the stamina and endurance side. Again, I don't profess to be an expert on this stuff, but just how can all these concoctions you guys drink and take be good for someone in the long run?? I simply don't see it. Just like with medications. It may help you with one thing, but it surely is screwing up something else inside you. Eat your meat and veggies and be done with it. Anything else will screw with your system one way or another.

LOL, thanks for thinking that I do!! I don't claim to be an expert on fitness, but from what I have witnessed over the years, the muscleheads generally have the least cardio stamina and endurance. Other than having big muscles, they are really not in very good shape otherwise. My wifes family members brought a few of these types on some hikes we have done in the past. These dudes are huffing and puffing before we are 1/2 mile down the trail! I also always get a kick how the muscleheads can't pass a mirror without stopping to admire themselves. It's funny as hell! LOL
-
Yeah, that training video is hilarious! Maybe for hunters they should come up with an exercise using a deer carcass? LOL All I know is that those who love to look at their bulging muscles in the mirror when they are young, are usually the ones with the most flab when they get older. Way more smart to keep your heart and lungs in better shape, then to worry about big muscles. Someone who exercises properly will have good muscle tone and good flexibility and stamina, which is all that really matters. They won't have big muscles, but who the hell cares? The lean type who concentrate on cardio will outlast any musclehead in any endurance type activity by a considerable margin.

Stay away from NYC
steve863 replied to SteveNY's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
No, I surely don't know all the laws across the nation. In the meantime I won't go testing any of these laws, especially while in possession of a gun. I will say it again. Any gun owner that doesn't know that NYC has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation is not too sharp. -

Well according to the article, this person claimed that his momma was in law enforcement and that he was a tea party patriot. Maybe he figured that would be enough to be exempt from the NYC laws?? LOL -

I love these sob stories of non-resident gun owners crying foul in NYC. Is it any real big news to any gun owner in this nation that NYC has strict gun laws?? If these people bringing guns into NYC had half a brain maybe they would know that it isn't a good idea, unless you don't mind getting arrested. If you don't like NYC, then don't go there, but if you are dumb enough to go there with a gun, then you have to realize that you might run into some problems. -
Many who strive to build muscle find out that it turns into flab once you stop or reduce the weight training. And as one ages, one surely WILL stop or reduce it. If you are going to exercise it's better to put more emphasis on the cardio part. In the long run the cardio guys will be healthier, have more stamina, and live longer than the muscleheads.

I agree. Looks way more like a domestic dog to me than a coyote. I bet this hunter had no clue that this was a coyote. He just wanted to kill something and found out after the fact that this was a coyote.

I for one am glad this season is over and done with. I sure as hell am not about to start thinking about next season either. Lots of living to do until then, and I won't be wishing the entire year away just to go hunting again.

This might help you. http://www.eregulations.com/newyork/hunting/pageflip/ The map starts on page 68.

So exactly what should be done to increase the deer population in the Adirondacks? Not like there was ever a big deer population up there. Funny, but I remembered you starting a thread over the summer about hunting mature deer. You said killing a doe was NO challenge, and here you are saying you hardly saw any. Hunting ANYTHING can be a challenge and that's what I think some big buck only hunters need to get straight. Last summer you seemed more than satisfied with the hunting in the Adirondacks and now you are singing a different tune it seems?? I honestly think it's no ones fault that there aren't many deer up there. It's pretty much the same in all big woods areas. Not like they will be starting to plant food plots on public land just to help out the deer and deer hunters.
-
No, that wasn't us. We have jobs. But your excused for the mistake. You admitted to not being able to see well recently, so it was probably an honest mistake with your impaired vision. Have you gotten those tri-focals yet?
-
There's a whole text book written about that syndrome, Doe. It's about 2000 pages long so I honestly haven't read it. Hell, I have a hard enough time with Doc's long posts, I couldn't imagine reading that book.
-
Yeah, I heard it can effect the brain after a while. Studies have shown that for some bizarre reason those effected like repeating the letters A & R. Real strange, ain't it?
-
Maybe in the future they can make decisions based on social diseases? The hunters who might have one will be restricted to hunting coyotes ONLY at night, this way they will have less of a chance spreading their diseases by sleeping around. LOL
-
Did you ever think that having the hunting club next to you may just work in your advantage? Lots of guys come out of the woods for a bit while hunting and still get deer. It surely isn't a must to be out there all day to be successful. In fact, I think the hunter can refresh themselves by taking a break. Sitting out there an entire day in 7 degree temperatures will not make the hunter very observant after a few hours. When one becomes too uncomfortable, it's time to get out, get something warm to eat and drink and try again later. No big deal. It's hunting, not a test of someone's endurance.
-
Biz-R-O, with all due respect I think you and your dad should consider yourselves more than lucky to be as successful as you are on 8 lousy acres. It is obviously a spot deer like to frequent, so I don't know if you should be taking the upper hand as to hunting skill here. I just don't see anyone being able to utilize any extraordinary hunting skills on 8 acres of land. It's more like you guys just have a really good spot, so in a spot like that, even the guy who fidgets and shows up after sun up would sooner or later be successful. Not knocking you here, I just think SteveMcD not seeing much in your unit carries a little more weight than you guys seeing a ton of stuff on your 8 acres.
-
One buck, one doe. Both taken during the regular season in unit 4P. A guy on the neighboring property hunted everyday for the entire gun season and barely saw a deer, so I consider myself pretty lucky. I didn't hunt a fraction of the time he did.
-
Yup, that's the way to do it! Great job, buddy!!
-
Oh Jeez, that's got to be the biggest crock I've ever seen. Did you see the requirements of what a hunter can shoot?? And a $5000 fee is assessed to those who shoot deer below the requirements. They can keep it. MIght as well shoot and tranquilize the freaking deer first and then put the tape measure on him and open his mouth to check his age, and then you can just slit his throat if he measures up otherwise you can just let him wake up and run off. At least you won't be screwed out of $5000 if you accidently shoot and KILL one that doesn't measure up.
-
I don't know of anyone who wouldn't have been freaked out to see 3 dead deer near his stand.
