  1. I saw this while looking into the warrantys. Guess this is how they know who the origional owner is: Warranty Card. For the Warranty to be in effect, the Warranty card must be completed and properly returned - with a copy of the purchase receipt - within 30 days of purchase for Warranty to be in effect.
  2. So I was in an archery shop yesterday browsing around and looking at the used bows. A guy came up to me and made a good point that I hadn't considered. He said that the used bows are priced ~$200 less than the new bows, but that you don't get the manufacturers lifetime warranty, as it is "only valid for the origional owner". So if you're planning on keeping the bow for a while (my current bow is ~15 years old!), you're better off getting a new bow, even if it's lower end but in your price range, so you get the manufacturers lifetime warranty. Manufacturers warrantys are the same from low end to upper end. Granted, he may be looking to push the new bows, BUT I'm glad he made brought up that point to me! Definately swayed my opinion! I did a little research last night and all the manufacturers that I looked up said their warrantys are ONLY valid for the origional owner. Granted, I only looked up 3 or 4, but are they ALL this way?
  3. I was just looking at the PSE Stinger yesterday on the Basspro website. It was rated 5 out of 5 stars by all the users in the reviews. I'm considering one myself.
  4. That looks like one killin' machine to me!! Very nice!!
  5. I've always shot Remington's (700 BDL's, 870's, 1100's, 11-87's). Beautiful guns and they shoot great. If you're interested in a Remington 7600 30-06, I listed one in the classified section last night.
  6. 1891 Forehand Arms .38 cal revolver with a nickel finish. A bit worn, but for being 120 years old, that's understandable. The hammer, trigger, and cylinder are functional. $200 or best offer, plus shipping and FFL dealer charges, unless you would like to pick up. Must have valid NYS pistol license.
  7. I have a S&W Model 19-4 .357 Mag with a Nickel finish. It comes with the origional box, owners manual, and tools. It's a beautiful gun and in mint condition. No scratches or scuffs at all! Very few rounds fired through it. Already had an out of state offer, but I don't know how much of a hassle it is shipping a handgun out of the state for a FFL dealer. Would prefer a local transfer, to avoid shipping if possible. $550 for the gun and origional box, owners manual, and tools. Shipping additional if necessary.
  8. I aquired a Remington Model 7600 30-06 from an estate. This has a gloss walnut stock and forearm and it's in mint condition. There is one tiny scuff towards the end of the barrel, but the rest of the gun is flawless. No slide wear from the pump at all. It appears new. I looked down the barrel and I don't see any evidence that it's been fired. I was also given 2 full boxes of ammo with it, and no partials, which makes me wonder if it has been fired or not. $550 plus FFL shipping charges, unless you would like to pick it up.
  9. Have both a slug and full choke barrel for my fathers Remington 1100 12ga. 3" Mag. After mounting a scope several years ago, the gun has been used exclusively with the slug barrel. This barrel has been just sitting in the gun safe napping for several years. It's a 30" barrel (I believe), full choke, and is in very good shape. My father wasn't a waterfowl hunter, small game hunter, or skeet shooter, so it was only used occasionally for turkey hunting. $100 TYD.
  10. Bought the Remington 870 12ga 3" mag 870 new with both barrels, but have been using the slug barrel exclusively since I mounted a scope. No need for the modified barrel. I have been the only owner and will tell you that this barrel has had "no more" than 30 shots through it. Only shot it to pattern and for turkey hunting. The barrel has vented rib, is 29" (I believe), modified, and has no scratches or dings. $100 TYD.
  11. CNY Archer - Is purchasing one of those 15-20 acre plots an option? I have a 16 year old and a 12 year old, so I know how you feel wanting to have a place for you and your son to hunt. From the ages of 20-30, I wasn't able to hunt with my father, because where ever I had permission to hunt, I couldn't take anyone and where ever he had permission, he couldn't take anyone. It sucked and was sad that something that he raised me to do, that we both loved doing, and we couldn't share it together. One day he told me he was buying ~30 acres, "so we would ALWAYS have a place to hunt together." My father is no longer alive to hunt with me or to enjoy the property with me, but me and my kids are very thankful he made the investment, as we now have a place of our own, where we will always be able to hunt together.
  12. Too funny! I think he would give me a run for my money with all those "sentence enhancers"! ;D That pigeon looked damned near raw! BARF!!
  13. I believe you can bait small game, but not turkeys of course. I know guys that bait coyotes and sit over bait piles and carcasses for them. If you can't find it in the regs, just shoot the DEC an e-mail.
  14. Still don't have mine or my sons! Confused as they always come before licenses go on sale. I e-mailed the DEC a few days ago, but haven't heard anything back.
  15. You're not the only one John. I received the plastic card, but no backtag or carcass tags yet. My son hasn't gotten anything yet. Seems strange, as it seems like we always have them before licenses go on sale. I just e-mailed the DEC this morning inquiring about it.
  16. Same boat here! One of these days!!
  17. This is the first year that the new Bushnell Trophy cams have audio. I think it will be cool, as I like to set my cams over scrapes in the fall. Having audio will add a whole new level!
  18. He is a dandy! Big bodied deer too!
  19. Should be open all year, but I doubt it would do much.
  20. My neighbor got his backtag and carcass tags about 2 weeks ago. Last week, I got the new plastic license card, but no backtag or carcass tags. My son hasn't gotten anything. Seems strange...
