Also keep in mind that it's not just taking medications together. Sometimes meds alone cause side effects that you don't even associate with the meds. Been there, done that! I've become so anti-meds that doctors really have to convince me that I MUST take them. If its something that I can work on with diet, exercise, or supplements I'll try that first, and use meds as a last resort.

Small Harvest/ Attraction Plots
Cabin Fever replied to Bballhunter11's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
You have to consider your deer population and other surrounding food sources. Just because someones plots were mowed down to the dirt, doesn't mean that yours will be. Give them a try this year and see what happens. A couple of years ago, I was told not to even bother planting soybean plots less than 1/2 acre, as the deer would eat them down to the ground. I planted anyway and they were waist high by September! I had to look HARD to find any evidence of browse! I obviously had different circumstances than the other guy. (far less deer and nearby cropfields) -
Thanks for the heads up mbucks27! I knew that some other brands had audio, but I didn't realize the new 2011 Bushnell Trophy Cams did also! I sent back a 2010 model for repair a couple weeks ago and am waiting for a replacement. After I saw your post about the 2011 models having audio, I contacted Bushnell to see if I could pay extra and get upgraded this model. He checked and said that they gave me a complimentary upgrade to this model and it should be shipping out today! NICE!!!!!

I would like to have audio on my cams! It would be cool to hear rustling leaves and cracking sticks as the deer and turkeys walk by, hearing a buck make a scrape, turkeys calling, etc... I don't think that's asking too much!

Good article! -
My cousin is also trying to quit. His doctor told him that after 3 days, the nicotine is out of your system, and after that, it's all mental.
-
Keep the faith!! You CAN do it! Think about how they are KILLING you! Think about dragging an oxygen tank around with you later in like after they have destroyed your lungs. Think about how you would feel if the doc drops the "C-word" on you and how it could have been avoided if only you had quit. Think about your body rotting away and dying pre-maturely, all because of the smokes. Think about your family having to take care of you and watching you deteriorate. Think about now being able to get out in the woods later in life, because you can't walk abd get your breath anymore. What's more important?? It's really tough, but it can be done. I quit 12 years and 5 months ago. I used Wellbutrin. That was before the days of Chantix. Most people that I've heard of that tried Chantix have had great success. Whatever you do, DON'T fall for the old, "I'll just have one" BS!!! Remember it's a slippery slope!! One leads to another, and another, and another, until you end up saying "screw it" and start back in full swing again! Good Luck!

That bucket traps works great. I've had several friends mention having problems with chipmunks and I always tell them about the bucket trap. Once they try it, they can't believe how many chipmunks and mice they catch and how quickly it cleans an area out. Sometimes you'll catch a chipmunk within the first hour! A lot of times you don't realize how many chipmunks you have, as they all look the same, so you'll be amazed how many you'll catch in an area. It's really helped us out at camp!
-
I still shoot aluminum also. When I need to buy more arrows, I'll make the switch to carbon. For now, as long as my aluminum arrows shoot straight, I'll keep shooting them.

They can be a big problem! You obviously have a couple of choices and find which is best for your situation. You can set a bunch of traps, baited with peanut butter, would catch both mice and chipmunks. Rat and mouse poison is another option, but then if you have cats might not be such a good idea. Glue boards are another option, but if you have pets around, would be a hassle. Another option is what I use at my camp. We have a problem with both chipmunks and mice getting into the cabin and making a mess. I don't get there very often, so I need something that will catch multiple critters and keep on working. I take a 5 gallon bucket and fill it ~1/2 way up with water. I then sprinkle enough sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and/or peanuts in the shell to cover the top of the water. I take a short piece of 2x4 to lay across the bucket, then another that is placed like a ramp from the ground up to the piece that is laying across the top of the bucket. I then sprinkle a few seeds on the ramp and the ground next to the ramp. I also spread a "little" peanut butter on the piece of 2x4 on top of the bucket, for some scent appeal. The chipmunks and mice run up ramp, think they found a 1/2 bucket full of seeds, jump in, and ker-plunk!! Works EVERY time!! I then empty it when I get to camp and refresh. It's convenient because it catches several at a time and its low maintenance. Believe me, you can clean out and area pretty quick like this, but of course, others will move in. I found a few Youtube videos that might give you a better visual. There is also a neat spinning can on a dowel trick, that is basically the same idea. Good luck!
