  2. Also, the buck I shot this morning was hot on a doe, it is not post rut yet. Many does that were not bred are coming into estrus now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I started seeing deer movement shortly after sunrise this morning. I was in my stand maybe 30 minutes before daybreak and almost all of the deer I saw were moving in from the direction I accessed the stand from. I have no doubt if I would have come in a little later I would have blown them out of the area. I think it all depends on your area, your access and the deer movement on your property. 4. My wife came home from work and saw it hanging in the garage...”I guess that’s going on the wall too!?” Ahhh yep. She is awesome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Totally not true! I just went through all of the archery and rifle harvests and some spectacular bucks were taken this year. I am happy with both of my bucks, but neither are close to the largest taken on this forum this year.

A little early, but it's been a busy day!
  7. So I was in the stand by 6:45 this morning, there was about 5 inches of snow on the ground so no need for a flashlight which was nice. I started seeing movement about 7:15 about 100 yards below me, a few does moving into a stand of mature pines, then a few more. I have seen virtually nothing since opening day of gun so I was feeling good about this. A few does here and there meandering though the creek bottom kept my attention for the next half hour or so. Out of the corner of my eye I catch a big doe trotting up the hill to my left, I have no idea how she got there, or where she came from, then I see a deer behind her and put my scope on it, its a buck!. I see the rack and move the crosshairs to the shoulder and let 'er rip. It looked like he dropped, I think... The doe is standing 75 yards to my left, unalarmed, looking over her shoulder at where the buck was. I put the scope on her but decide not to shoot. I sit tight for a few minutes while she feeds her way up the hill a bit more. I climb down and find the buck right where he was standing. I recognized this buck as the one we called the "the crab claw buck" I have pics of him 30 yards from where I shot him. He broke off half of his split G4 (?) on his right side since the last video/pics. Really cool buck. It was quite a job getting him dressed, out of the woods and into the truck alone. I have never really cared how much a deer weighs, but I just may go grab a scale, this one seems very heavy! I also found two beds in the snow within yards of him, I am wondering if he wasn't bedded with that doe only 75 yards from me and I never saw them?
  8. I am covered up in deer. Just got back to the stand to get my gear and 5 more standing 75 yards away. That makes 17 seem so far Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Live from the home office again today. Looking forward to getting out tomorrow!
  10. I’m feeling a bit frustrated too. During bow season I had an opportunity to shoot a buck every sit. I did finally connect with a decent buck and haven’t seen squat since then, only some distant does during gun season. Cameras are still showing nice bucks in the area though, so I am hopeful. I am back at work this week so I’m sure by Friday I will be excited to get back out there, everything can change in a matter of seconds. You just have to be there when it does. Keep the faith! 11. We had a lot of sparing and fighting on camera this year, some broken racks as well. The buck I shot in bow was a little beaten up and one of his eyes was punctured. The taxidermist thought it was most likely from fighting.
  12. Pulled my last two cameras yesterday on the way out. Haven't seen any shooters all week. They seem to still be hanging around, just at the wrong time of day. I guess they don't get to grow that big by walking around at 8am in November. https://youtu.be/lova6wIzjHo

  14. I sat it out today, no sightings in the last few sits so I decided to get some work done around the house before I'm back at work tomorrow. I did pull my last two cameras and am happy to see they are still using the same trails, just the wrong time of day. Next time out will be Friday.
  15. I moved a stand last Friday after getting some decent pics in a different area. Sat there a few times since and noticed a lot of deer about 200 yards to my west. Today I entered the stand from that spot and found these! Just moved that stand again and am sitting tight until dark. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Never added my buck to this thread. Team 4 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. Brutal day today. Snow, sleet, freezing rain, more snow then some fog. I sat bell to bell and saw one little doe at 4:30 and spooked 4 does out of an oak flat on my walk out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
