    Out for the final sit of the year. My oldest son and I walked in just after sunrise, bumped 5 or 6 near the first stand. I’m really thankful to have had such a great season and to be able to spend it with my boys. I lost my Dad 25 years ago today, there’s no better place to sit and reflect on all he taught me.     I have a Winchester 101 field model and love it. For what it's worth, you may want to check out the Cabela's/Bass Pro exclusive version of this. Half the price, and basically the same gun with a little less laser engraving from what I could see, though I could be completely wrong.     Oh I couldn't agree more. 42 seasons in a tree and I'm finally starting to figure it out. Well, probably not, but at least I found the right tree this year... The number of hunters in WNY clearly skews things, but seriously, if you go through this and the harvest threads, some really great deer are now being taken all over NYS. Also seriously, Chef, am I even on the team?! I just assumed we were all in.

    I saw this post and it reminded me of an envelope my Mother gave me last Christmas containing photos of my Grandfather, his brothers and some friends at deer camp in PA when he was a young man. Here are a couple of phone pics of them. I think I’m going to go through the lot tomorrow and scan them. I’m thinking maybe some large prints to hang on the wall with my 2020 buck mounts.
