  1. The time is getting near now. All the things I need are coming together. My shooting is good to 25 yards and alright at 30. Now I just have to get my hunting arrows done. Put the wraps on then the fletching last night. Go easy on me with my work space i am just getting into the heavy reading!! Lol Here are some more progress pics.
  2. I would not chance that. It might work for awhile but those tips might let loose and ruin his drive to shoot. Bows are scary when they let loose, I know from experience!! There are people that can fix bows but don't know what the price would be.
  3. The moth is only about 3/4 of an inch if that. The picture is blown up pretty good.
  4. So what kinda moth is this?
  5. I didn't look through all the reply's but check out simmons broadheads. They fly excellent and you can get them in all kinds of weights. I currently shoot the tiger sharks at 175 grns with a 100 grn brass insert. These broadheads are devastating on game huge holes and good blood trails.
  6. We are getting peas now. Have tomatoes growing too.
  7. I kept getting that when I searched too. If you look up cow vetch Vicia cracca is similar but has a dark purple flower and is considered a legume. They say it works for cows in pasture. I was just wondering if anybody has run into it or knew anything about it. There seems to be a ton of it around my house
  8. I have cow vetch growing all over my property. My question is. How favorable is it to deer? Should i mow it or let it grow?
  9. These are ramps correct.
  10. interesting I was looking at renting one. I have bunch of stumps and even if it was 50 dollars a stump it would 500 or so. I should buy a small one and go into business!!!
  11. We must be way behind where I am. The fruit trees and bushes are barely starting. I have my sugar snap peas in but they like the cold weather. I did plant sunflowers from seed but they won't be up for a few days so hopefully they are fine. This weather needs to change!!
  12. Anybody know about how much it is to get some stumps ground? This is definitely subject to how many and how big etc.. Just looking to see if anyone had any experience with it.
  13. Atbuckhunter, Don't just throw those peach trees out. If you can't find a good home I would gladly give them one. I used to have them at my old house and I made some good peach jam not to mention pies!!
  14. Dinsdale, Thanks for the response. Lots of good stuff in that post.
  15. For those that have flown somewhere for a hunting trip how do you ship your fuel cells for stoves? I have a stove that takes the individual fuel cells. I don't want to rely on finding one when I get to my destination but kinda iffy on sending them through the mail. What have you guys done?
  16. I am teaching my 6 year old how to read a tape measure and build!
  17. Put a few more fletches together for some my arrows. These were going to be for the above bow but now they will be for my elk arrows! Hopefully they bring me good luck.
  18. What ever you do don't use a deck over stain/paint. I used it on my deck and in two years it is pealing terrible and it traps any moisture that is in the wood and rots it. I am replacing boards that were in perfect shape two years ago. I have a painter in my family and he says he makes his clients sign a waiver that he is not held liable after he puts it down.
  19. You ever need to get rid of some of those scraps let me know. That is a wood turners wet dream in that picture!!!
  20. Check out tom hannock resevior. I used to fish bullheads in my younger years there. I know they have rules and regs. and you have to have a permit from troy.
  21. Yosemite Sam is our lab, then the 2 beagle are Yukon Cornelius, and Elmer Fudd. The oldest beagle will be 16 this year he did his fair share of rabbit hunting . Now he likes to dream about it which he earned.
  22. What kind of brooder do you have? We have a tiny one it works but not good. They are super expensive and I don't do it enough to spend 100 dollars on one. We hatched one last year and another one was fully developed but we think it drowned when the first one hatched and bumped it.
  23. So you know what they say about the best laid plans!! Sometimes they get better!! My winter project has now turned into a get my other bow out and just practice practice practice!! I need my takedown for the fall hunting trip! What trip am I talking about?? Well my wife was nice enough to get me an elk tag in Montana for my birthday!! So now I am on "get into shape mode and shooting out to at least 30 yard comfortably". Should be a good trip as long as the world isn't still in lockdown! I might ride my bicycle out there if I have to! LOL
