  1. You find all kinds of stuff when doing demo. One project someone doubled up some magazines to shim out the end of rafters that were cut short of a ridge. Another were the homeowner wired together used lamp cords adding 5 together for each section of "run" to make more conductor......for a 220V dryer circuit! I can't believe that craphole didn't burn down. But sometime in the future I'll be the butt of the joke. I needed a half dozen washes for a job and just drilled a few pennies to act in a pinch. My helper dude at the time had a fit I would drill MONEY. Hey, it was damn cheaper than the time to go to a hardware store 30 miles away for some one cent washers and these had a nice copper cladding. LOL
  2. Governor and thank him for this support as well as the Speaker of the Assembly Sheldon Silver, and Senate Co-Presidents Dean Skelos and Jeff Klein. What did they promise that douche Sweeney in return? Thats where the buck stops in "his" committee.
  3. You got a bed? Then most folks got a pillow on top......the thing you stick your head on. LOL I have a couple calibers with removable muzzle brakes....or as NY law has it "breaks". Good for the range time and who notices recoil in the field when killing stuff?
  4. Anything with Olivia deHavilland and Errol Flynn. Yaa......I like old movies.
  5. Link please...... Always good to have a spot that can be sent along to folks who ask.
  6. LOL....I thought that also.

I can do 22yds in the heated shop or 30 in the cold barn. I don't shoot in the barn. I have a piece of 5 foot square conveyor belting from a quarry for a back stop. Two ply almost 5/8 inch thick. Haven't needed it, but if it wasn't there, well, you know I would.
  8. I do maple....and know a guy who does birch syrup....and an old timer that taps walnut. Not exatly like tapping sap, more like a flavored simple sugar syrup. Hmmmm; I have a shag bark here, I'll have to toy with that idea.
  9. Maybe overturned in court......and thats a maybe..... But repealed? Who's gonna sign that into law? They couldn't even get a repeal before a committee for fives seconds before it would be DOA.
  10. If I move the computer over to the window; and happen to be browsing a hunting related web-site when I see something to shoot.... Does that make me a hunter? I can see if it was just gun related, that'd make me a shooter I reckon.
  11. I live on my second floor over my shop..... Sounds like when I kill stuff out the bedroom window. Can't use a semi-auto though, they fling brass everywhere and then you can get a case stuck in the vacuum.
  12. Two best deer I have taken were with a homebuilt cap-lock I assembled from parts ordered here and there over time. Sold that gun and its one of two I regret parting with out of a bunch that have come and gone. I still have parts for a one or two more; just need to find some time to get another back together. Have some sweet tiger maple stocks for a flintlock long rifle sitting around and most of the parts, need to order a barrel. Hope your idea catches on.
  13. You gonna ask Melvin to build a flinty NULA for you. LOL
  14. Read more careful.... I LIVE 25 miles north. I'm WORKING a few days down your way. It's the internet, it's supposed to be fun.
  15. #1 Why else do they make guns that hold more than 1 round?
  16. Because if you seen the locals where I live, you too would call it Loozerville. I had a primer red tailgate on my pick up that had written in lumber crayon.... "I'm on a one way trip to Loozerville, U.S.A." It also had cool racing stripes I put on with a paint roller and some porch enamel gray, done at lunch time on a project. At first I thought "they" were bringing down the neighborhood, but after 25 years I have discovered I can help along the way. And I'm roughly 25 miles north of you. I'm in Red Oaks Mills next week a few days; we can do lunch.
  17. I have a SIG Mosquito (22LR) that gets the same "reviews". I only shoot mini-mags and the gun has been flawless from the start and many thousands of rounds later. So I'd say try that too. Trade you a brick of Mini-mags for a brick of SV. I have a rifle that likes SV and tough to come by as of late. LOL
  18. Double rifles require offhand shooting; and many would argue left or right barrel first depending on regulation of the original loads/barrels. Gun needs to free recoil to duplicate point of impact. Many use a standing rest with a hand between fore end and a sandbag and trigger elbow supported. I use the same setup for any hard kickers/light guns now, leaning in with a shoulder standing is much better than traditional bench IMO. And its a short transition to just shooting sticks and then offhand.
  19. Ain't that the truth. LOL Sure could use some CCI SV and a 10 brick case about now.
  20. Been in an off hand competiton for a few years running on another forum.......scouts honor type of thing.Scope and non-scoped. There's some damn good shots out there, and I ain't one of them. LOL But practice and a few bricks with the 22 helps out.
