Great day today even though I didn’t connect. I seen 6 different bucks and two doe. I had my dream buck coming in all he had to do is come 10 more yards but I never seen or heard the other deer behind me and it started blowing and he changed course. That’s hunting! On my way to Cleveland so no hunting till next weekend. Congrats to all who connected today.

Just got out of work I hope to be in my stand by one. Last chance before bullets fly tomorrow morning. I can only hunt Saturday and then I have to drive to Cleveland for my boys ninja competition on Sunday. Good luck to all !

Six or better for me but it has to be the 6 point I have on cam with the freakiest head gear I’ve ever seen.

I take a hot hands warmer and put it on top of my head between my face mask and winter hat . Keeps the heat from escaping the top of your head. I was skeptical but it really works.

I cant wait . Seems hardly anyone is hunting state land in East Otto this year so maybe we will see some deer after 8am. We use to get excited that the state landers would push everything to us but less and less deer over the years and still standing corn down the road has the deer on different patterns. Terrible weekend deer wise. Friday night nothing. All day sit Saturday nothing. Small 5 pt at 30 yards today had me tempted but I couldn’t do it. Holding out for the big buy. But he was over on my neighbors property today.

No deer seen in 2 days so far. All my pics are still showing night time movement.

Alrighty.... the police are looking for the guy who owns the property next to me because he said he is going to kill himself and took off in the woods with a shotgun. Who knows maybe they will push something to me. Never a dull moment in east Otto.

Low flying helicopter and cops with dogs now coming into my field. I’m scared to get down with these dogs. I will keep you posted on what’s going on.

Looks like it. Their is a lot of female competitors. It’s a great sport.

My 2 boys do ninja warrior and they are down in Columbus this weekend for a competition. I didn’t go because it’s the crossbow opener. My youngest he killed it this morning ended up on the podium and qualified for worlds . Now I wish I went! That’s him on the far left.

So I received my 30-06 back from Remington due to firing problems. I go to the range this morning and to make a long story short the gun is at fed ex and I should be receiving a new one in 7-10 days.

I can let my Excalibur down without shooting a bolt but my buddy has a Barnett and he can’t do to anti firing system or something along those lines.

I would say the second just do to the thickness of his body. But we don’t have a picture to the first guys body.

Dude nice buck congratulations . Our group of 9 guys took 2 doe. I didn’t get a shot at anything. I only seen deer the whole trip. Not one elk was seen by anyone in the group. I was hot on a bear trail for a day. I found a puke pile. He must have been overloaded with gut pile scraps. I got a glimpse of him but no shot. Always a great time in Colorado.

Had a bunch of work to do up at the cabin today. Decided to take a walk and check trail cams. I get up to the corner of my field and theirs some think brush at the field edge . I get to about 30 yards of this bush and I see something moving. I’m in a stare down it a giant. What felt like forever of us just gazing into each other’s eyes. I’m slowly reaching for my phone to hopefully get this on video when he just bolts. I got him now I know where he’s sleeping. I’m going to give it a couple days and get into one of my stands close by. Man that encounter got me feeling good.

North Tonawanda! We had a 12 and 14 point out in the yard last night. Right at dark. It’s funny because my uncle from Alaska is here to hunt and we just got done re sighing in his bow and I had the crossbow out taking shots and here they come. I learn a lot from these deer. Can’t complain!
