1. ! I agree with Steve I don't think I could walk past an animal suffering like that even if I had to burn my tag I don't think I would regret it
2. I have been seeing a good amount of rubs an fresh scrapes
3. regarding the quiver issue you could probably put new fletching on your arrows for a couple of bucks an arrow and deal with the quiver situation next year
4. Always take the whole week off . I love sitting in the woods in a tree stand it is very therapeutic. Also killing a deer in the early season clears your mind as well as filling the freezer
5. I like the fact that crossbows can not be used during the early bow hunting season and bow only hunting areas. After reading the last paragraph I wonder how long that will last?
6. I am still shooting a Matthews Z- max 1997 aluminum arrows. I planned on buying a new bow the past couple of years but it never seems to workout. The Z max shoots as good as the day I got it . Upgraded the sight and rest and string of course
7. I hunt from state land lucky enough to find a track with little pressure. If the pics come out these are two eight points I killed from there one last year one three years ago
8. They say that one in one hundred males have a red color deficiency and five in one hundred has a green color deficiency . I can see colors it is a misconception that some one that is color blind can only see black and white, that is a extremely rare condition. I as In most that are color blind can see red, blue , yellow but can't tell the difference between purple , dark blue and blue , also different shades of reds, yellow and Orange etc.
9. I usually see deer between 10 and 2 during the bow season because there is less pressure. during the gun season it is usually in the early morning and late afternoon
10. I paid $395 last season for shoulder mount
11. I like hunting in the rain it keeps the scent and noise down plus I hunt state land and it keeps other hunters at home . Deer usually are moving as long as it is not too windy.
12. I'm terrified of heights I wont go near a tree stand without a safety harness and I wont climb any higher than 15 feet
13. Thanks for the replys . I shoot a compound with a release aid. I'll try a few vans and see if it affects accuracy if it does ill just cover the feathers on the way to my stand or try the powder.
14. . I agree I practice with it on the bow so I hunt with it on the bow
15. I have been shooting feathers ( right helical) ever since i started bowhunting and i have very good accuracy with this setup the only problem is when it rains. I was looking to set up some arrows with vanes for rainy days . Is there any major difference shoot vanes or feathers I should know about?
16. I have been using G5 Montec boradheads I love the one piece solid design and i find them very accurate they even sell a practice head so you dont have to beat up your sharp heads
17. Good video thats how I learned books and video tapes and practice
18. I rarely do maybe in the fridge for a few days if i dont have time to bone it out right away I never had a problem with gamey venision
19. I would say in my third season on new state land closer to home ( first three spent hunting in delaware county state land I might have seen two or three deer in those years combined) The sun just came up and things started moving it was bitterly cold hunting from the ground within an hour I had a pack of turkeys pass pretty close past me then I just kept hearing leaves rustling I kept looking over my shoulder and when I seen movement i got my rifle ready and in came about twelve deer all does feeding right in front of me ( no doe permit that year of course ) I stood dead still for a while ( felt like a half hour but most likley five to ten minutes) I had the biggest doe that just kept looking at me trying to figure out what I was ( 12 yards away) then she must have caught me blinking and became curious for some reason ( never seen this before or after ) and started walking around the tree i was standing behind when she got up to about five to six feet away I turned my head to get a look at her and that is when she bolted along with the rest of the does but a few minutes later about half of them came back and kept on feeding for a few more minutes . ( This was with no camo on I forgot my camo jacket all I was wearing was blue jeans and a blue and black plaid jacket on the outside)
20. I don't know about sizes . All three taken in Sterling Forest about 100 yards apart in different seasons. My buddy killed the one in the single pic.
