  1. Hey Red, cool feeling knowing they're around isn't it? What model cam is that?
  2. This is why I usually wait till just before labor day. There's people out there thinking they won't get the dmp selection they want unless they're first in line.
  3. That would be a great piece for Monopoly.
  4. 10$ for a bag of corn? Bunch of noise. Sounds like a fine way to attract critters, squirrels and birds. Did you all know that we have a symbiotic relation with bacteria in our intestines? It's the same bacteria that help dissolve your body when you die.
  5. Typically camp out for a few days.
  6. Am I the only one who noticed the Alfred Hitchcock nose ring silhouette and, the guy has no wireless.
  7. Cool short story. Considering this site though, I honestly thought there was going to be a punch line at the end.
  8. A Parrot. Friggin figures, I don't like heights or I'd wind up in a cage feeling like a NY taxpayer.
  9. I am a little envious of the sunshine your beans get and the space you have for them. Do they get hit into Oct?
  10. Good shooting. Just wondering if you need an arrow puller for the jacket target?
  11. I agree she's normal. And off the list in my book if I saw her with fawn. Interesting roof design in the background. How do you keep the snow from socking the front door?
  12. I noticed the dmp selection for my area had a med for 1st choice this year, its usually none. I won't go for that and kind of wish it was still none. But I have been seeing a few more slicks around.
  13. Good question, I was planning to spread 8-10 square of topsoil for the w/r plots then work them. Problem is two more spots on the main trail smoothed out by the skidder but to soft for the tractor. That means about two more 6 wheeler loads of #4 or fill to reinforce the trail before I can get the 885 back into the area again. My gravel guy is nowhere to be found at the moment and I'm about out of time unless I burn some vacation just for the work, too much else needs to get done. So, I guess I'll cut, drop some 3x8 and over seed. On the plus side the job can be more thorough next year.
  14. Clover/chicory part is on the upper left side of the tree line. Which looks great in daylight. But yeah I'm sure they hit that part of the plot too.
  15. It's due for a replant by the end of the month - yeaup. Long gone to seed head but they are still visiting remnants. Some go by the labor day deadline but in the Tug about a week before seems to pay off. Following that plan last year I had deer in the plot when the Rye was about 6"+ish from time to time. This seems like one of those deals where I'm not sure why they are still hitting it but ok.
  16. About 25 years give or take. Like many of us I was on critter control in my teens for a while until the family moved off the farm. Guess I just don't count that. Then over two decades ago I got separated and was in a bad way. Long story short - friend of mine got me into hunting to help settle my mind. Going on about 7 years for Archery.
  17. I'd agree with Glats for the most part, although I'm not sure what a "strang of lawn gross" is. Maybe try a clover/chicory mix instead, perennial.
  18. Done. Included a mention of this site as an info source.
  19. Bow could use a new string, probably ok 1 more year. Some new ratchet straps for the ladder stands.
  20. I like a boonie hat as well & usually use some form of mask because of the friggin bugs. Never liked bug spray on my face, especially when I'm at camp for days at a time. Friggin bugs.
  21. I learned that one of my old favorite WMA spots was turned into a hiking trail.
