  1. After about 20 years I - misplaced - my gut hook about 2 years ago. Still kind of upset about that. Replaced with a nice Gerber though.
  2. I have had friends note the smell during application. Well yeah your spraying it on your clothes but once it's dry seems odorless. I'm just tickled that I bought a bottle where the sprayer actually worked and didn't leak and piss all over me.
  3. All day hunts are a rarity but have paid off before. Maybe if I'm hitting an old favorite spot, day run to state land, or just somewhere else to break up the stand routine. If there's a forecast that lets say it's going to storm up for a while early or before dark, I'm more likely to hit a stand/spot for the better part of the day instead.
  4. Looking forward to this seasons first blood trail.
  5. Keeping it simple and that works. Most of the time for me for snacks it's just venison jerky & apples.
  6. Very cool. Its a nice feeling you get when you pull sdcards from cams over plots and see the work pay off.
  7. There is an underlying read on why allot of us like to hunt alone here. To each their own, just sayin.
  8. It's a new ball game. Last year property was logged and I started bumping into deer way before any stand. This year cams tell a different story but I'd need a dozen to keep track. Maybe two more for next year but most don't like rechargeable battery's and I have enough jazz to do up there.
  9. Good on ya. I think I've done about the same but don't remember 1/2 of them.
  10. Both for me. I prefer Archery but often hunt both MZ seasons.
  11. I found a print for the inside of the box.
  12. I wish I could get Goats milk by the quart then allot wouldn't go to waste. Wegmans is then only place I know that has it by 1/2 gallon and yeah its $. The economic powers that be don't want you to know how to grow your own veggies, or fruits, they want gardening skills to get lost so people become dependent on the chains. If the system could find a way to charge you to take a piss and make it a crime to piss any other way they would do it.
  13. I grind allot of jazz. Sausage or burger mix is excellent, and a great way to introduce someone to venison.
  14. How did I miss this thread - not so hot on the cheese part but everything else looks great even the table. What are you using for casings if you don't mind saying?
  15. Got a big doe with a big fawn w/spots now and then up until early Sept at least. Haven't checked the cams in a little while. I also thought that was a bit unusual.
  16. Had a nice dinner with all 3 kids last night, youngest being 22. Stocking up on kindling for the fire-pit. Bought a new 6-8 cup peculator, not that the old one is bad but its smaller good for 2-3 cups, so If i want 2 solid cups before I hit the trail -and- fill the stanley well I'd have to brew two rounds. Enough of that.
  17. Could be a giant tick or hillary looking for an old abandon grave yard for names.
  18. If you do get a chance to hunt, have a buddie or two on speed dial for the drag, gutting & processing. Don't push it - good luck.
  19. Pick up a soil ph meter similar to this example. The tips a kind of delicate so use a small shovel for test samples. Breaking up woodland plot areas - old logging trails is rough on equipment. 1st year with tilling be prepared to stop every 10 yards or so & clear the tines of roots & vines, tossing rocks etc. Oh yeah good times. Start applying lime with all the leafs your soil will probably tend to be acidic. Work up to an avg of 6 or so while clearing for sufficient light, it takes time. Clover / chicory mix seems to be a good bet for perennial. Maybe sandwich a small winter rye plot in there for annual. Got a harbor freight or something near by stop in and get a pack of cheap work gloves your going to need them. Good luck & good hunting.
  20. Probably not what you wanted to see but neat pic nevertheless.
