I have a 1 bottom for sale $250 firm. My TC25D New Holland pulls it fine.

I planted my small food plot a week ago Sunday (8/10) with turnips and Mean Bean Crush (cow peas and soybean). On Monday night I planted my 1 acre field with Northern Sweet Spot. A mix of perennial sweet rye grasses, clovers, trefoil and turnips (see link) as well as the interior part of the field with Clover King clover mix and alfalfa (see link). I went to take a look on Thursday evening and the clover had already popped and by Saturday the cow peas and turnips had started and on Sunday the rye grasses had started. Will post pics soon. http://www.outsidepride.com/seed/deer-food-plots/sweet-spot-northern-mix.html http://www.outsidepride.com/seed/deer-food-plots/clover-king-deer-food-plot-seed.html

I have 95 acres (14 on west side of road and the balance on the east side) with a 2 acre pond and spill over pond. A nice creek flows north/south just east of the pond and the property is in a bowl. Not much visible from the road. The property is divided by a power line too. It is a mix of hardwoods and hemlock E and NE of the pond, apples and hardwoods NW in the triangle patch across power line. I have circled the 2 areas where I will be planting soon. The rectangle field is 1 acre and the triangle field about 1/4 acre. I have , clover and sweet spot perennials (links below) as well as purple top turnips and Mean Bean Crush soybean and cow pea blend. I would like to plant in strips so the perennials will not have to be re-tilled in the Spring.Thought about the large field perennials and the small triangle turnips and Crush Bean mix. That way just re-till the small field and perhaps the power line next year. Thoughts? clover link: http://www.outsidepride.com/seed/deer-food-plots/clover-king-deer-food-plot-seed.html Sweet Spot mix link: http://www.outsidepride.com/seed/deer-food-plots/sweet-spot-northern-mix.html Crush link: http://www.evolved.com/mean-bean-crush.html#.U9_Le-NdWSo

Homemade Towable Food Plot Seed Roller
nybuckboy replied to VT Outfitter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
yes you have the the idea. Perhaps a tow bar of heavy angle iron and attach the chain directly to the lag bolts. OR Possibly weld from angle iron a 3 sided square with support corners and attach directly to the lag bolts.- 18 replies

Homemade Towable Food Plot Seed Roller
nybuckboy replied to VT Outfitter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Funny you should show this as I have been thinking of a way to tow behind my New Holland TC25D. It has a rear wheel footprint of 60 inches. I have a few nice 14 to 16 inch logs that I was gonna cut to 60 inches and find the center on both ends. They are relatively the diameter on each end. Pre drill a hole... using a large lag bolt, install a ring, then a large washer (bigger then the ring) put the large lag bolt through them and ratchet into the log. Then hook a draw bar between the 3 pt hitch and add a chain or cable to the ring on the lag bolt. Thoughts????- 18 replies

Closed on the property on May 12th. Now the daunting task of packing up the old house, getting rid of some things, selling some things and then gathering up the dozen tree stands from the land I been hunting for the past 15 years. Probably will leave a stand or 2 at the old land just for a change too. There are trout, bass, grass carp and going to introduce catfish soon to the ponds. Can't wait to till up a few spots for some plots and get some cameras out. Always see deer just after dark in the area.

Any one who isn't self employed or has ever worked for a company will appreciate this!

These are the aluminum I bought in yellow. $120 shipped, tax to my door. See the one marked Special Pricing http://www.vosssigns.com/OA1.htm

Bubba... if you write the letter we can all just copy paste and send with names at the bottom. I know it may be lazy but this will probably work best. Some of us may just reword a bit as well.
-
Aluminum was suggested to me at 2 inch 1 3/4 and left about 1/2 inch out.

@Doc - I decided against the phone number as well.If they want to hunt or ask permission I want them to come to my door so I can meet them anyway. Thanks for the direction on the signs.

Just ordered 100 aluminum in yellow from Voss Signs with name/address with tax, ship for $119 TMD.

No farmer here... but you are in for a hell of a lot of time and money to clear the land. Yes you can make some money logging the land but what you are really asking for is to strip the land to be able to plant crops. That being said you would have stripped the topsoil and left the land useless I believe. I think you are wasting your time.

How far apart is best to post the signs?- , not just the legal posting distance but so people have no excuse for missing the signs. 100 ft apart, 150ft ??

The DEC or Forest Rangers should tear open the trash bags with plastic gloves on and find something they can track the bastards down with an address and like Alice's Restaurant go after them and fine the SOB's.

Del Gue. 95 acres
-
That is a power line and from what I understand you can plant food plots there. The power company trims it out every few years.
-
The property is a bowl shape with the pond the low point with a creek that runs north-south and very close and just east of the pond. It crosses the power line just inside the property boundary on the north and exits just below the smaller spill over pond. The house is never visible from the road either.
