  1. Yeah it's really stiff. Keep worrying I'll pull it sideways and Nick the string with a broadhead.
  2. My dad showed up, so I had to switch stands. Had a spike come in, that's it.
  3. Decided to sit the tower blind this evening. Hoping the tank crosses the lower field in the last hour again. Gonna have the gun on my shoulder starting at 330, if it happens it's gonna be fast.
  4. Been in the woods since 7, in the stand since 8, nada. Half a mile walk through hardwoods to get to the stand and not a flag or a sound. I'm just far enough down the hillside that the wind isn't too bad. Still cold though!
  5. My team is sliding pretty hard now. Lot of injuries in the RB department. Nobody but myself and autodraft to blame.
  6. I'm up and moving, going to slow hunt into one of my hillside stands after daybreak. I'm told there's a dusting and it's butt cold. Good luck to everyone going out!
  7. Great buck TF, awesome to see persistence rewarded. GMan is an awesome resource on the forums for me as I stumble through plotting etc, and obviously the definition of sportsmen as he's completely unselfish about his property. Kudos to you both.
  8. Joe Mixon on IR, still want to trade Rodgers, Tacks?
  9. Kinda feel the same way about mid mornings. Not sure I've ever shot a real big buck before 9am. That big stud was out in the field opening morning at 9 at my place. Early mornings don't bother me though, love that sunrise!
  10. Ouch. When I got up from the couch last night, got double leg cramps that took 10 minutes to go away. In spite of the half gallon of Gatorade I drank during the day. I know I did alot if walking but man that hurt.
  11. Yeah I gotta take the day off from it to deal with house crap. State land was mobbed yesterday,15+ cars I'm told. Not many shots heard either. Bucks seem to be in lock down, fortunately I have a nice group of doe in living in my plot area. Probably take a couple days this week, weather pending.
  12. Decided I'd had enough sitting, so I took the rifle for a walk this afternoon. Saw a donkey Doe, but it wasn't a great shot so I passed. Walked about 6 miles I think, found some interesting sign. Then chilled with my dad and his buddy with the poor aim by the fire for a while. His buddy had a heart transplant, so he's thankful to be there, and who knows how many more years my dad will be doing this. So, no deer but still a good day.
  13. Pretty sure he clean missed him,109 yards, broad daylight, standing still in the middle of the field.
  14. Buddy shot at the tank, said he trotted off tail down. Can't find point of impact or hair, middle of the field. Looking for blood right now.
  15. I post that and it starts to liven up. Push those public land deer to me people!
  16. At the the cabin, outhouse isn't too bad, 47 and light northwest wind. I don't love the wind direction for my central stand, but that tends to get the most traffic under pressure.
  17. It's that time again! Good luck Chef with your track. And good luck and stay safe to everybody else headed out to the Eastern front this morning.
  18. Yeah the light on this started malfunctioning when it got wet. Don't recommend it. Gimmicky, never used it over my head lamp.
