  3. I'd like to see stocking done a week or so before season. Also don't say were they are stocked. I've seen guys litterly run into the woods to hunt. I would also like some birds to be stocked after deer season. Just my opinion.
  4. I wanted to get my trappers license this year but didn't have time to take the class. I will find time next year and start trapping yotes. I went out last night and got no response. Plan on going out thursday night when its colder. Good luck to all and be safe. Hope to see you all out there this year. Anybody up for a coyote drive?....

  8. ejp419, I'm in to be a shooter. I ran racoons with my uncle. He used to use us cousins as dogs to. Line us up and say go, we would bark thru the corn field till the end, then the dogs would be let go. What a great time it was. Send me pm. I live in dutchess...
  9. Welcome aboard. The first one never made it threw. Sorry to hear your done. It can be frustrating out there. Keep your head up and look at state land, large parcels.
  10. Hey papa bear, Were did you find this information, if you don't mind me asking.
  11. Hey toruk, Glad you guys got out and had a good time. Crows can see blue,So nothing blue at all. It's all about laughing and enjoying the day. Only 150 days tilll the new season starts.
  12. Hey max3, Glad you got out like we did. I'm laughing with you. My friend shot one and said he's going down, I said yea right. WE got up to the top and didn't see him. SO I tried to stalk one solo in the tree's, as I was walking I found his wounded bird. Shot at him 15' away and missed. I was laughing at my self. Since their were rocks in the area, I chased this bird for 5 minutes with my friend laughing at me the whole time. He was giving he hand signals of were he was ,which I already knew. The bird started to walk around this bush si I thought I would cut him off only to see he saw me and went back the other way. So I finally caught up to him and finished him off.. I was tired walking up and down this hill. Anyways we called at this new spot and had a lot come in but it was really windy. We did get a few more shots off. We did have a eagle fly over us a few times. That was totally awesome. Of course we had to stop till he left. Even though the season is coming to a end, you can still hunt crows on farms with permission.
  13. Welcome aboard. From HYDE PARK (trying to out due str8shooter). Coyote and crow hunter. Due like to hunt birds when I can find them. Enjoy the site and feel free to ask questions...
  14. Thanks pygmy. I know your not busting my chops. It was a big bird. It could of been a raven. Here's a question..How can I tell the difference between the 2 when they are flying. I appreciate your expertise and like to learn from everybody. I'll take any knowledge that you'll share. have a great weekend...Marty
  15. We went out again and saw our buddy with the missing feathers. Missed him again to. I got 3 and one of them was an adult. it was big. We had 50 birds come in at the same time this morning. It was awesome. Only got one shot off. I downloaded a call from wester rivers and for some reason the birds love comming in to it. Not sure what it is. Only a few more weeks left..Bummer...
  16. You do not need decoys. Just drive north of pulaski, look up,follow and ask permission. They want them gone to. We never by decoys. We stealth up to them...
  17. I had a blast yesterday hunting crows. We shot about a box each and was laughing the whole time upon cursing for missing. Its always challenging. We had one crow with missing feathers fly in "HOT" 3 times and missed him. Can't wait to see him next time.

  21. State land in kingston.Were?
  22. You can eat crows, but I wouldn't until it gets cold. Go to crowbusters.com and they have recipies. Hey toruk..I love the attitude. I have had that attitude since I was a teenager. Keep up the good work and never give up...
  23. Its almost time for that special season of snow goose. I hope I find time to get up north of pulaski to get some...
  24. Max is correct. You laugh the whole time you hunting. Be careful, its addicting. I use #4 shot, but maybe #6 full choke will work to. 2 decoys are ok to. If you see a squirrel before u go,shoot it or pick one up off the road. Gut it open and let blood go all over and place a decoy over it like its eating. I'm using a stuff animal that looks like a squirrel and spray painted it red. Don't be afraid to be creative. There is a good site, its called "crowbusters.com". Its very informative. I'm on it and love it. I go as often as I can. Remember,no hunting tuesday, wednesday or thursday...Chris my friend and I laugh the whole time and of course curse at them to. There are more ideas but once you get going you'll think of ideas as well.. I'll take you out up here and we'll blast them. I have a fly way here...Good luck.
