  1. Awesome idea, Brother Nature. He is a boy. Jakob Nikolai. 8 lbs 1 oz, 19 inches. A solid 140 class with drop tines....oh, wait. Sorry. I got carried away. Everyone is healthy and quite happy! Funny thing is he has more hair than I had when I was in the Navy!
  2. That would explain the confusion.
  3. Grunt. Hope he wanders past the claymores. If all else fails, call in the air strike.
  4. If I am harassed, (at least where I hunt 90% of the time), they are trespassing. There is no arguement to sway.
  5. I noticed that, too. I may have to think about moving back to my home state! ;D
  6. I am a grandfather!! Just got the call from VA. What a year. First deer with a bow, first turkey, and now a grandfather!
  7. I am certain people swap all the time, I guess I just thought someone might frown on obviously selling a tag.
  8. I'm just guessing here, but I am pretty sure it would be illegal to sell a tag.
  9. Good luck. Hope you have a wonderful experience.
  10. Congrats. Thanks for sharing. Good luck on the rest of the season.
  11. I would like to run this past you guys. The buck that I shot a couple weeks ago with my bow, had a cut on his left hind quarter (down the leg a bit) that I assumed was either a tear from an antler (but looked too clean a cut for that) or maybe a cut from a broadhead (result of a really bad shot). About the same time, I noticed one of the doe in our area (runs with two of this years fawns) had an obvious limp on her left rear. My neighbor got a really good look at her from his treestand and said she has a cut part way down the back of the left leg. What do you think are the possibilities of these injuries being from the same source? I am thinking maybe a fence of other item in the woods may have caused both injuries.
  12. Regardless of your tactics, good luck to everyone and PLEASE be safe!
  13. Congrats! Nice looking deer.
  14. Thanks for posting. That HSS 360 looks very interesting.
  15. My hunting area is a choke point between two larger sections of woods. The main traffic area is about a hundred yards across and two hundred yards long. On the first morning, the family that hunts the land next to me will light up the woods like a war zone. The deer will stampede through my property and head for the state park. That will be the last I will see them for a couple weeks, so I hope my aim is good in the morning.
  16. I know I will get blasted for this, but just remember, those nutjobs are no different than the guy jacking deer or poaching. They are only a small percentage of the group they represent. Living close to Ithaca, I know a lot of people who respect my right to hunt, but don't eat meat. When I meet the occasional nutjob, I ask them "If you support the rights of all animals, what gives you the right to de-worm your dog? Don't the worms have the same right to life as your dog, or do you get to play God and decide what animals get to live? Do you allow mice, ants and cockroaches to share your home?"
  17. I am pretty sure that they ship squirrels in to my stands during deer season! (Oh, and I got my first every turkey this weekend! Who says you can't find anything on public land?)
  18. Definitely an interesting rack. Congrats!
  19. Good looking deer. Congrats.
  20. Thoughts and prayers to the family of the warden.
  21. I would point her toward the local food pantry!
  22. If FastEddie is on the far left and Doc is on the far right, who are the guys in the hats? P.S. It looks like Doc needs to shave his back!
  23. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your lady.
