  1. Batch of venison jerky just hit the oven Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. His guard hairs look pretty long so in layman terms : fur is prime. Too bad you can't get but $5 for them now. Daughter refused to take him to school for show and tell. Jeesh , rotten kid
  3. Taking him to Sterling forest to keep Bill company hunting timber doodles Lol. That can of pop is only 7 ounces Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Just dropped off daughter at ballet 15 minute car ride consisted of : " Dad , I'm pretty excited about hunting Saturday " Never knowing if having a boy or girl I'll never regret having a girl. Bright , smart , caring , pretty young thing who enjoys something so special to me : the woods. Been putting crawlers on her own hook since she could barely walk , been taking her to " listen to the woods wake up since she was 2 for turkeys impressed with with 2 fox I shot while calling one night at age of of 4 , she's caught muskrats in her own sets trapping , never once pushed her to hunt or fish , seems it is something she took to naturally. I never could imagine loving one so tremendously. Proud dad and not afraid to boast. I'll have to photo shop out tears of joy this weekend from my ear to ear smile if she puts a deer on the ground. In a nutshell , I'm so happy to have her Some guy , some day is going to be the luckiest SOB to have her as a wife. That I know ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Watching news now. Doesn't look like Matthew will impact anything but perhaps the east coast of NY at best. Hoping rain forecast for Saturday is incorrect, youth hunt. Loading car of basics now.
  6. Happy anniversary! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Dang it Grow. It was such an asspiring pic until they had captain winky
  8. On even keel with Prairie Bomb. Just mowed the grass, sweating my nuds off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Like ! I'm out for the day thats great news ! You have the green light , take it easy out there. You shoot a deer , call for reinforcements to help you as we know you aren't leaving that phone at home. Congrats on the good Dr. appointment .
  10. Don't have that either. Darned sure it's a Viper. Wife bought it for me maybe 15 years ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Hmmm. My Summit Viper doesn't have a shooting rail.
  12. Account / upper right account settings notification settings
  13. Also running 3 of the same. Pretty happy with them . Batteries have been outstanding IMO. I've learned these cams give flashlight like photos at night but I'm not displeased at spending $120 a cam and how they're working for us.
  14. Another Summit Viper owner here. Wife bought it for me many years ago. Never have used another climber to compare but this baby is comfy ! A lot more comfy than my ladder stand. I've done as many as 5 dark to darks in a row in it. It's not light but I don't considerate it heavy either.

  16. Buddy just text Has cam video of 2 nice 8's locking horns , ripping up ground and sparring for a half hour. May be an early rut from what we're all seeing. Let's fill up the freezers y'all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. If down wind they know what you had to eat the prior week. We wash clothes in special soap , acorn cover spray and trying Ever calm this year. After a few days I'm sure we stink. Don't buy into scent lock clothing. I've killed quite a few deer after wearing clothes for days on end , gutting and dragging deer. May I have seen others down wind of me , maybe. The first few days in the woods are by far your best chance of shooting one . So scent reduced we are. After that we're relying on dumb luck anyhow
  18. I've seen a few pics on this forum of trailcams with bucks breeding does already. Doesn't surprise me. Not so sure on temps versus calendar year affecting them I dated this girl in HS who was in heat for 52 weeks a year . Wait , that's a different story but gosh do I miss her
  19. I'm sitting on my deck and still have the answer : hunt !!
  20. And can't wait ! Washed clothes today and stowed in plastic tub. Saturday's hunt will be til 10:15 or so and rush daughter to ballet , lol. Doesn't seem like her skipping it is needed as what I'm seeing most deer sightings are morning and evening anyhow. Sunday evening sit and have all day on Monday if needed. We've set cams , inventoried bucks , clipped trails on way in , checked blind we built last year , she's shot a bunch practicing, ( $$$ in slugs ) , have a checklist of what I need to pack. We're ready. Her gun has been waiting to be christened for many years. This day has long been awaited. Any deer will be a trophy but not going to lie. Hope she tips over one of the few big 8's we have on cam. They're all bigger than my best , lol. This opening day is by far the most special to me of all time ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Yup. Thanks Burmjohn . No double posts, pics load , Tapatalk seems fine. And thanks Fasteddie for deleting all the multiple posts the last few days. You've been busy , have a beer on me.
  22. To be honest. That's really odd. Glad he won't go to waste and food bank getting him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
