  1. I’ve killed my two biggest archery bucks the first week of season. I would rather go buck less and enjoy the rut in the woods than kill one in early October. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. 1x is faster than 3 or 4X, I have 1-4 or 5 leupolds on most of my deer rifles and other than on the bench I don’t think I’ve had any of them over 2or 3x. Larger scopes are heavier and have to be mounted higher. Heavier is no big deal if you’re not walking but 6-8oz in your hand after a day makes a big difference. I like my scopes mounted as low as possible in low or Xlow mounts because it makes it faster on target when you can burry your cheek on the stock instead of it floating. Ymmv If I was setting up a gun for still hunting it would have a 1-4x20 scope. If I was setting up two guns the other would have a peep sight for foul weather. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. A quality scope with a 20mm objective will gather more light than the human eye can use. Bog objectives gathering light is a marketing strategy by inexpensive scope manufacturers. In my opinion a 1-4 or 5x scope is ideal for eastern hunting. Plenty of zoom to reach out as far as any of us will shoot. I’ve shot a couple around 400yds with no problems. 4. A red dot has all the negatives you have with a scope and all the negatives you have with irons. On a turkey gun they’re amazing on a deer rifle I can’t see any use for them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I hunt with a peep most of the time. Not because it’s faster than a scope because it’s not! I do it because you don’t have to worry about sights getting snow and ice in them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The thing is none of us have a magic ball to tell us the future. If I knew I had enough I wouldn’t be buying, until I know what the future will hold I’ll keep buying. If that makes me a hoarder than I guess I’ll take it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I don’t know what there is to disagree with, if people didn’t buy things things would be cheaper. That’s obvious, if people didn’t buy F150’s my F150 wouldn’t have costed 60k. But people want F150’s even though their current one probably works fine and will for a long time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. That’s my point, you said I don’t need a 1000 rounds to kill a bad guy. I don’t need a lot of things but if I want to have ammo while it’s still available I’ll damn sure buy it and have been. Hell, yesterday I bought 5000 rounds of buckshot. I haven’t shot 5 rounds of buckshot in the last 10 years other than at work. But it was available at pre crazy prices and one day it might not be so I bought it. I also added some 5.56 to the order, more than I like paying but same principle. I probably have a lifetime supply of it but things could change so I would rather have it. Thanks for the invite but I don’t shoot at public ranges. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I’m glad you know how much ammo I need. I don’t need to buy any ammo as I have stocked up for years and prepared for this. I shoot multiple times a week, I hope I don’t have to change that! I should be good for at least 10 years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Calling a turkey is trying to trick a bird with a brain the size of a pea. I agree that cadence is the most important part of calling, the worst sounding calling I’ve ever heard in the turkey woods were from hens. But the cadence is never off. I’ve all but gave up on calling turkeys beside locator calls. I much prefer sneaking in on them, especially with a bow! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The public access has a neighbor with an ice eater blowing across the small setback where the access is. 6-8” of ice on the lake and on shore but 20yds off shore there is a open section 10ft wide. The ladder worked great going out but wasn’t as effective on the way off. It ended up being a cold wet ride home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Buy a little land in the ADK’s on a lake that has trout and salmon. Put a small log cabin on it. Buy/build a small something in destin Florida very close to a marina. Buy a nice center console for my Florida house. Other than that make sure my daughter never has to worry again, put away enough for me to get by and give the rest to st judes or something similar to help sick kids. I would probably keep working limited schedule. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Huge disappointment, they were out of burgers and the lady tending bar was older than Pygmy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Best part about this spot is I’m 100yds from a bar with great burgers and a young lady serving cold beers with front bumps that will make a fella drool! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Too many do, they don’t realize the line of shit they’re snorting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Took a ladder and a lack of brains but I finally got out on a local trout lake. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. So sorry for your loss Brian, I have no words other than that I’m sure I speak for all of us that we are here for you for whatever you and yours need! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. I feel comfortable but wish I had more! I figure I can shoot weekly and be ok for 10yrs between ammo and components. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. For you guys that are into shooting handguns I recommend a product called G-Sight. I’ve had mine for a couple years and it really is a great training/practice aid. It’s also a lot of fun playing around with a few buddies. I had one at camp all year deer season and we played with it almost every night. It’s a laser trainer that has an app on your phone that records the shots. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I have had a plow on a wheeler and it’s ok. I would definitely not buy a wheeler that’s been plowed with. If you take it easy it’s probably not too hard on them, atv’s are generally built to take some abuse however what I’ve seen others doing when plowing with atv’s is why I would never buy a used machine with a plow! 23. My only point was you don’t need a box of bullets to get a zero. I also don’t think a couple shots the day before a hunt makes a difference but I guess it can’t hurt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  25. If you’ve done your home work with the gun you can adjust zero for whatever range you want at 100yds or 50 or 25 or whatever other range you have to work with. If I knocked a scope off I’m buying a new scope. A quality scope and mount shouldn’t move! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
