  1. Right lol Except Cbow all these seasons been around a looong time. DEC has been balancing years of declining hunting participation with loosening primitive seasons to try to keep deer take up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I was out in 5 inches of snow this morning for 2.5 hours and back out tonight for close to 2 and thought for sure I'd see something. I do not think I saw a live animal or bird! :=(
  3. Nice! That did not take long! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. She better be shooting an iron sighted flintlock!! Just kidding!! I hope she gets a crack at one!
  5. I get ya. More licenses and tags for the DEC which is fine. I spend money on worse things. And it actually cuts down on the others out. I love late ML season. And snow and my scoped in-line lol. My eyes suck anymore so scope is a blessing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I use my ML pretty much all gun season. Nobody says you can’t use a flintlock? Don’t be bored go buy one and sell your inline!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Couple inches of snow already fell this morning. Bunch more coming down. See if anything is out moving Tucked up in the tower. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. You guys have doing well for yourselves!! Congratz on the nice deer!
  9. I forget how bad gun season can be lol! Keep battling. Us grinders will get it done!! Good luck!
  10. Update on gun season is gun season sucks lol. Between four of us opening weekend my nephew got a doe. Last week I took a small one. Sat 10 hours in the stand this weekend and saw 0 deer. Makes it hard to bother. Sooner or later.....I need a few inches of snow on the ground.
  11. So just a bow season update. I logged 92.5 hours in the stand during bow season. During this time I saw from stand; 15 bucks, 8 does, 8 fawns and 5 unidentified sex. A pretty typical sighting year for my properties. 1 buck every 6.2 hours and a deer of any kind every 2.6 hours. I did see a couple shooter bucks and the one I took I saw a couple days. First time I have connected on a shooter that summered on the property. Usually they all scram when the crops peak way down the road and the bigger bucks I see are cruisers. The season was strange in that the first 3/4's or so were very good then it just died. The last couple weeks of bow the sightings were terrible. Overall a good bow season with a great buck but disappointed I could not stick a doe!
  12. So since this is the first time I paid any attention to ash trees. My eyes have been on trees all day. I would estimate I have 75-100 of them on my home 12 acres. I have two biggies within range of my house. On another piece today I have permission and the ladder stand I am in is in a huge ass ash. This friggin China borer is gonna cost me a lotta ache! 13. New target doe. Ain’t she chubby!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Up and at em. 33 and little spit of snow. Can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a deer outa this stand. Slow slow slow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Well done! I hope the drag was not 3.7 miles! We’d of been eating a few pounds at that fire lol.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I am not saying there are not good and bad hunters with each weapon. Not my point. Just what weapon effectiveness. And I’ll take that bet any day. My 7mm mag against his bow. At 10, 20, 30, 50, 100, 250, 350 ………winner gets a hunt in your deer Mecca lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I’m up and in 32 here in 7a. Nice buck or fat doe would be stellar. Good luck all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Trad bow<(less effective than)compound bow<crossbow<flintlock<shotgun<inline muzzleloader<rifle shooting at running deer<walking deer<standing deer Not too complicated, shooting at a running deer with a trad bow is on the stupidest end of the spectrum....... The next thing is why do drives have to be shots at running deer? I guess like most things folks like to generalize. Drives can be safe, slow and shots at standing still deer. Done right the deer will more than not stop often to check their backtrail. Or when given a sharp grunt, bark or even holler.
  19. I have no attachment to the tree so it will go. And it and the others are all very much still alive. Sharpening chains Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I have about half a dozen 50-60’ cherry trees to take down along with a 60’+ pine and this 80’ ash and a couple smaller ashes. Might as well take 6-10 more mixed off side of garage too. Or just put the house on the market lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I got insurance lol!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. That one is one big ass tree. Gotta be over 60 ft and the house is in range. More flipping trees to cut rrrr. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
