Ok it’s quiet, calm, cold and devoid of deer down on this end? There were fresh overnight tracks as always up by the house. Back here 2. Well it only takes one lol. I’ll sit for a while then poke around. The boy won’t get up to hunt in single digits!! Lol Wait till he gets older and can enjoy the stillness. We will get out later for his last sit if the year. Could not get on yesterday at all but still hunted yesterday morn and tracks and beds galore but no deer. Put in 4 hours. Then sat a couple hours with my son on evening watch nada. 7 degrees this morn sounds like no fun but I’m gearing up and heading out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I snuck out for the last hour with my son. I wish we got earlier but he had school. I knew the deer would be out. We caught one and he caught us going in beside the tower. We had a stand off, he actually came towards us but to thick for a shot before he trotted off. Pretty sure he was a button. Saw a tail going outa the clearing as we got to the tower. I'm not sure if it was the same one. After that nothing until we heard a shot just on the neighboring property. Whoever it is has been hunting the other side of the bedding area behind a row of houses next to mine. Whoever it is they have been at least shooting at a lot of deer. I have heard them shoot at least 4 different times from that same spot this year and a couple last. That's just when I am around. We were close, we will get in there earlier tomorrow!

Well while getting coffee I look out front and there is a deer right in the middle of the front yard So put on the big boy clothes and headed out back Bunch tracks close to the yard and the tower. As I headed to the far stand not a track. It is actually beautiful out. I’ll prob only sit here an hour and ease back around around the tower end. Just with the money I spent on booze in my 20's would have bought a nice chunk of land!! lol

I would of told myself to first just slow down. Most of the missed shot ops and such is due to not being slow enough. So slow down and enjoy the heck outa it!! Also pick your friends and hunting partners wisely. A bad decision here could cost dearly. Leave it better than you found it. And I am one of the buy land party...if done correctly even if you do not end up wanting it sell it for more.

i think we have about 20 inches on the ground now. Wind is really picking up. My legs are already sore thinking about Sat through Tues since I have all those days off.

I got up at 5 am and could not see a foot out the window with the light on. Went back to bed. Looks like we got another 10 inches overnight. It’s getting real now. I've had a couple deer pretty much in the same shape overnight. My first bow buck on the house land the first year I moved in. I backed out not knowing the lay of the land good and the deer was hit and i lost the trail in a thick bowl. Went back the next morning and it was 40 yards farther down and all that was left was head, hide and bones. Nice 8 point. That was in 7 hours! The second wasn't much longer. 3 or 4 yotes can clean a deer quick.

I did take a short walk out back. I did jump one no shot. He was down in the creek bottom in the thorns and rose. Multiple beds in there. Looked like he had been holed up there a couple days. From the sign I am thinking it was a buck. The beds were not huge so not one of the 10's. I pulled the card by tower on way out and man the were moving last night. over 80 pics from 4:40pm yesterday until 4 am this morning. At one point i think there were five 1.5 year old bucks there at once. Bout ready to go run taxi again.
