I so should have called off today. Looking like 1.5 to 2 feet of snow over the next 2 days. Something i saw about 40 mph gusts Wednesday. Ima go from zero snow to 3 feet in a heartbeat like last year. All i wanted was 4 - 6 inches for a few days............ Hoping for a morning sit tomorrow but I got a feeling the weather is going to be crap and me driving my daughter to college instead of her driving since her bus will most likely be cancelled.

I did get out all day Sunday with my BIL and nephew. My son has been sick so he did not get out. I watched on first watch for 3 hours or so and no dice. After that we had some lunch and did some slow drives for the rest of the day. I managed to put up one lonely deer all day. No shot ops. Man my legs are feeling it lol Got some snow finally and have a couple inches on the ground. Got out for a short sit this am with no luck and not a track. I should have hunted out back there were a bunch of deer tracks in the yard. Looks like snow all day tomorrow. Hope we don't go from none to 3 feet!

Not much going on! Few shots far off. Coffee in my backpack is calling to me I’m trying to hold out for a while lol. No still hunting with the super crunchy frozen ground. That’s for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well finally back out. Had to drive 45 minutes to where I hunted opener on state land. One of the only places I got doe tags. Just a spitting of snow. Louder than all get up! Nothing sneaking up on me lol. I’m actually more excited for the next 9 days when there may be some actual snow accumulated so I can track em down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I got up with plans to go but I’m tagged out here and no snow here or either of my spots an hour south or west where I have a doe tag. Sons sick, not a deer on cam out back in over a week which is some kind of record......went back to bed. Come on snow and ML season! Good luck out there I want to see some pics of dead critters!! My kids don't have as many books, I think that is slowly going away. But the few they do are freaking huge. Kill yourself carrying a couple of them lol. I did do the old paper bag on a few of them!!

Can a bullet kill a deer even if you miss?

This Wicked Weed is pretty darn good. I was a bit appalled on how much I payed for a growler of it but it’s still cheaper than CBL! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

To me it all matters if you know this land well and know any neighbors. It would suck if every property surrounding it had a stand or two a few feet from your lines. Or a couple buildings could restrict where you could shoot from if within 250 or 500 feet. Just a few things to think on. If you are satisfied and want it. 1500 an acre sounds fair.

I had a spot on state land down off the end of a small swamp at the end of a pond. I would always make sure to be there opening morning as I knew this group from up north would be driving the side of the pond to me. Id be up in a climber and killed a couple deer thanks to them. I would also stay put for a good while after they moved on to the next piece as I would see deer pop out after them as well. If you don't want to see people on state land on opening day you best be hiking way way in the nastiest places. Nature of the beast, I learned to use it. Unfortunately some of the woods that piece got some fungus and the state clear cut it. Screwed it all up.

I hunt with the ML most of gun season. Already have one kill with it. Looking forward to some snow and some still hunting. The state lands are already pretty void of hunters so some 10 degree weather will thin out the rest. I have the last 4 days of ML wide open.

Out back in the woods and put a cam on it. Let nature finish it.

Deer had no injuries or anything that would indicate anything was wrong with it during butchering. I’m eating it so if I disappear from here. It’s been fun!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
