Sounds like some excitement and hopefully a clean miss. I would hope you practice shooting at that range it is a long shot for a ML and if your crosshairs were moving a bit then the farther out the more that shot can be off. Closer is always better. I would make sure I followed both trails a few hundred yards just to be sure.

45 degrees Bumped one up top coming in. Wind a little swirly. Camo - the corn seems to come down when they get around to it lol. Weather is the only factor.... too wet, snow,.. The field next to the spot in in now last season they left up until November! It hurt this spot bad. This year the field is hay so I'm happier lol Cory - good luck on the elk. Yea I just winged it. Browned up some ground venison. Added packet taco mix, can of diced tomatoes with jalapeños and some corn I put some color on in a hot fry pan. Take some tortillas, I used like the 8" and cut in half. Put in a couple spoons of the meat mix, some Mexican shred cheese and roll up. Spray a cookie sheet heat oven to 425 brush some olive oil on em and bake for like 20 minutes or so. When they got a good brown. You could add minus lotsa stuff.... onions, black beans...... I served with jalapeño queso, salsa verde and salsa. Technically they are to be fried but baking is healthier and we thought they rocked! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I soak it whole not cut up. I cut it up and trim before I cook it. I have whole ones all soaked and froze in the freezer. I always prefer freezing in bigger pieces, you don't want all that surface area. I've always done it with small game as well. Like I said I was taught by grandma and it certainly tastes fantastic the way I am doing it.

After volleyball snack last night. Rebel inspired me to throw in some garlic. Heart in the pan and tenderloins off the grill. Ate right off the cutting board with fingers lol.

In have always soaked the heart overnight in salt water. That's the way my grandmother always did it and when it come to cooking she wasn't wrong lol. It has never been dried out. In fact had this last night. Pan sautéed heart and grilled loins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

10/17 am 32 Well it was nice and chilly this morning. No frost though. I jumped a couple yotes of yesterdays gut pile. I dragged the deer a couple hundred yards away from stand down trail re gutting. mid watch I had a deer run out from the thickets near where that pile was. Must have been spooke by a yote or the crime scene? That was all I saw. I grabbed two cards on way out and man the yotes, 3 of them, have been all over and in the backyard a lot. I need to start looking out back more during the day and keep the 22 mag handy. They need to go.

I took the day off to sleep in. Need to rechage. I am also really trying to keep pressure lighter on my stands until another 10 days or so. GL out there.

Keep supporting China!! Our grandkids will have to speak Chinese! The reason they are so cheap is they stole the R&D as well as the technology to make and make slaves make them........... Off my soapbox. fire away.....

Man it's chilly!! 32 Jumped 2 yotes off yesterday's gut pile on way in. I dragged it a couple hundred yards away from this stand. I'll sit this spot this morn and let it rest for a bit. Wanted to sit it with this cold. We will see. Maybe a yote will get shot too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

10/16 pm 48 Just slipped out back to the property line pine for the last hour. It's just a short throw from the lawn so easy to get in without any disturbance. Saw two rabbits while in stand and one on way out. All those yotes I have must be poor hunters!! Nothing else. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
