5.5 year old taken with bow weighed 186 dressed on DEC scales aged by DEC.

I hear ya! 11 hours in stand this weekend and saw 4 all Sat evening 20 minutes till sundown. Brothers added another 11 hours between the two of them and 0. So 4 deer in 22 hours on stand. Weather was great. Another week or so we should see some better action I hope!!

Just another tool. For me the goal is to put the deer into the next world as quick as possible and to have the best chance as possible to do that with the tool I am using. I won't quit using my compound, I will and can hunt with multiple tools. But really? Are you trying to say the crossbow is less challenging? Is there a point to that? It is easer to shoot well with. I bet you could shoot one better than your bow, does that make you better or worse? Hmmm And you are shooting a stick bow with homemade arrows because really if your not is that still archery??? I hate thieves! I have had a few stands stolen over the years. I also had one just a couple hundred yards behind the house attempted to be taken, my chains stopped them so the destroyed it. It takes some balls to steal stuff when you know the people that own it will be armed if they meet you taking it. Did I mention I hate thieves! I am not so sure a few bullets would not make the world a better place for people that can keep their hands off other peoples property.

10/18 am 30 Out back in far stand for 3 hours. Leaves were falling like crazy. Spit a little snow. BIL out as well both a big zip.

Good job! How bad the yotes get it? Doesn't look bad in the pic. I have had them clean one down to hide and bones overnight!

7A no sign of even a slight pre yet. Have seen yearling bucks coupled up. Little to none on scrapes. All deer focusing on the massive quantities of available grub and there is so much movement is minimal. I say about 10 days here and things will get interesting.

10/17 pm Out back in the far stand. Sat 2.5 hours. Did not see a thing until 6 then had a doe and fawn cruise by left of me about 60 yards out. A few minutes later I had a lone doe. I think, come in on my left. She was just past 40 yards and at first I thought she might be a small buck being alone. She started heading off then a small buck came in from behind and she turned back. I had to sit in stand half hour extra waiting for them to move off so not to spook them. Finally some action though all last minute.

My younger brother swears by it. I can't see paying that kinda dough on it! I got a Sitka fleece hat about all I could stomach! I went Core4 which is made by peeps that split from Sitka I am pleased so far second season

Just to give you an idea today it's 30. I have 4 lower layer, 5 upper, good fleece neck gator and hats, hand warmer in a hand muff. Feet one wick one heavy and key boots can not be tight that reduces circulation. Dressing to stay comfy is an art! Lol

10/17 am 39 Out 3 hours in the deep hole stand and nada. What a nice morning! Did not even see a squirrel until just getting down. Pathetic, I remember early bow season now!!! So much food everywhere, no pressure and no prerut = no deers! Figuring out a master plan for later!!

10/16 pm 58-52 Got out back in the far stand and was good for about an hour. Then it got real dark and thundering. Then rain good so I got down and eased to the tower and it stopped raining for 30 minutes then dark and poured for my walk home! Yea Clothes needed washing anyway lol

I get so frustrated and upset when I lose one! I would hate to relive that over every couple days! You and Luna are doing great! Kudos to you and her!
