I have a couple stands that do not have shooting rails and I can't be leaning a crossbow against the tree for support like a rifle. Do any of you use a shooting stick so you are not shooting freehand? I would need something easy to carry, adjustable one handed, quiet and multi use so I could use it still hunting rifle as well. Input appreciated. Fletch

10/15 pm 62 Out behind the house on the field edge. Just out for an hour after taxi duty. Nothing sighted. I did hear one blow a good bit off up behind the houses down the street. Was hoping it would scare my way. As I was headed out I bumped it coming down behind the stand. I gave it the old blow back and stomped like a deer and shuffled off trying to sound like a deer to throw it off the game!!

LOL I thought you were posting a pic of a big buck on your cam from Saturday.

10/15 am 42 Out back in the far stand this morning. It was nice and chilly. I had a couple somethings under me well before light. They made some strange sounds, I am thinking two raccoons. Beautiful sit with nothing but a lot of squirrel activity!!

10/14 pm 54 Down in the hole for 2 hours. First time in here since the doe oh miss. Nice night and nada.

I have one buck 5.5 DEC checked taken with the bow. Dressed weight 186. I've taken a few does over that age as well. I try to avoid taking matriarch does. In my experience it can drastically alter doe movement in a given area forever.

Nice and cool here 42 Had something come in before light. More than one and not deer. Maybe coons, fox or yotes? Made some funny noises I'm going with coons! Sunrise coming. Let's go deer!

Back at it, 52 and breeze Down in the hole stand trying to change my luck outa this stand. I have not killed a deer out of this stand yet. Let's just say the deer are ahead.[emoji22] Have had my chances here.

10/14 am 53 Out in the far stand for 2 hours. It was a nice morning. Thought I might see something. As I eased out two small bucks were in the clearing off the tower. Wish they would have done that over the weekend when my nephew was there! Pulled the cams and was a bit pissed that those two bucks where right in front of one cam and it never took one pic? Wonder how many deer I am missing? I have 3 of these Coverts out and not cheapos. I did have one buck that looked bigger go by the far stand at 1am but out a ways and grainy. Along with the skippers and some does during daytime.
