10/10 am 41 Out behind the house for 2 hours this morning. Bumped one going in. What a beautiful morning. Guess the deer did not think so it was a zero. Might try to sneak out for a last watch tonight. Tomorrow morning I am taking the boat out to do some fishing with the old man before I leave for the Dacks.

Nice looking set ups! I have never had the chance to hunt crop edges like that. All my hunting is wooded. I might freak out seeing a big buck 1/4 mile out for so long coming towards me!

10/9 am 37 Hit the outer hole stand this morn. Got my butt outa bed and made it on time. Had deer on both side of me before legal time. Both got spooked and took off and one blew. Had wind in my favor so I had no idea until 30 seconds later a yote comes following their trail. He was just a small one too. I took at shot at him but it was dim and I hit some stick ups I could not see. Ruined a broad head but what ya gonna do. Sat for 2 hours and nothing but a big fat raccoon paid me a visit. I loved the 37 degrees and yup burmjohn I used a hand warmer!! I also got some good/bad news today. Bad news is I will be out of town most of the last week of October so no hunting. Good news is work is sending me to Germany! I am also up in the Dacks starting Friday for 5 days on a family vacation, not hunting. I am losing hunting days fast!

38 degrees woohoo! Had deer on both sides of me a bit ago. They get all spooky and take off and here comes a yote. Let an arrow go but it was still dim out and I hit some brush so it looks like the scoundrel escaped. 10/8 am 42 Out behind the house in my 1 stand. It feels nice with the temp finally lower! Had to shoo deer outa the back yard to get to the woods. About 7:15 had a spike or 4 cut behind me rubbing saplings the whole time. Pretty quiet after that. Did jump one just leaving stand coming in. Rrrrr had to go to work. 10/6 pm 66 Woke up for morning hunt and it was pouring so I went back to bed. Got out for 2.5 hours tonight. I went to wrong stand with the wind hinky. No sightings. Cmon cooler weather.

10/5 pm 69 Down in the deep hole stand for 2.5 hours. Man it is warm. Had a doe and fawn come right out to me. I did not see her soon enough and she was coming right at me. She turned broadside at 18 yards but the fawn was facing me and could not move. They turned and walk out and away no shot.

10/5 am 64 Down in the outer hole stand for a three hour sit. Real quiet no deer spotted. I lot of hickory nuts falling and squirrels all over the place!

Not seen a thing and about 10 minutes ago a deer starts blowing a bit out from me. I have not moved and it is not true downwind but about 70 degrees offside. Hmm maybe a weird swirl, I did sweat coming in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

10/1/13 57 degrees 1.5 hours in the outer hole stand. Pretty leafy still and a bit warm. It was absolutely raining butternuts. All I saw was squirrels. I did sneak in and pull the card from cam in front of the deep stand and it had like 750 pics on it since 9/8. Mostly does and a couple small bucks and I think 5 different 8 pointers that look 2.5 yr old. Nothing real big. Attached one below. It felt good being out. Out of town for a couple hope to be back out Sat.
