Wow...sky got black...poored for 10 minutes. Wind changed 180 degrees and it feels like the temp dropped at least 10 degrees

Had a spike come through about 30 Yds. Luckily for him my super itchy trigger finger isn't that itchy.........yet

Crazy windy and 51 degrees here in 4K. Probably should have stayed in bed. Feeling pretty discouraged. Keep telling myself it can all change in a few seconds. Good luck everyone that is braving the wind today

Thought all day sit was going to pay. About 1:15 I catch movement about 100 Yds out moving from my left to right. It's a deer so I get my gun on the rail and follow in the scope. I keep catching glimpses of what looks like a bone white rack. Just as he is getting to where the woods are thinner and I think I m going to get s good look and possibly a shot he disappeared. He either had to bed down or walk directly away from me. Hoping I get another look before the day is over

I always plan on being in and setup no later than 45 minutes before whatever time sunrise is. I like an hour before sunrise ideally but sometimes I am running late....

My last sit for 2017 archery season and I have a very itchy trigger finger. Really want to take a deer with the xbow. In the swamp stand till dark.

Well. I got to see what a deer looked like again. Had a spike about 60 Yds out. I believe he was kicked out by a tresspasser. I kept seeing movement on the opposite side of ridge and would lose it. Yup it was a person. Only one other hunting here today with me and it wasn' him. Wonder if that is why I stopped seeing deer.

Well...back in a tree in 4K. Last chance with the crossbow. Hunted Saturday Sunday and Tuesday and barely saw any activity. 4 guys hunted the lease yesterday and said the chasing was crazy. Lots of movement...bucks chasing and grunting. Hopefully the switch is on here. Even scoutlook says BEST under day hunting rate. I don' t know what they go off off but it always says fair. We'll see what happens. Good luck everyone!

I have been using a tree stand umbrella for years. I put it up before bow season starts and leave it up. I have never had an issue. Last year i forgot to take it down and kept saying i was going to go get it but never did. No big deal, they aren't expensive. So i have new one that has been on the tree since second week of September..Its still fine. Hopefully i will remember to grab it the last time i hunt so i can use it next year.

Well...sitting this field edge this evening paid off...there are still deer here. 4 in the field and closest one is about 200 Yds away. No bucks chasing. I got 6 min of legal light left so I didn' t get skunked!

I can' t get over how quiet these last 4 sits have been. Look how thick this is. You would think I would at least hear something even if I couldn't see it. 1 hour left...can I give this vacation day back?

New ladder stand put in two weeks ago. I am superstitious about changing spots but Amtrak is working on the tracks and I use their access to access the back of our lease. We'll see what happens. Here till dark

Things may have changed in the last 10 years but we used to have a couple of guy from out of state in a hunting camp my Dad belonged too. They NEVER got doe tags......Didn't matter how many times they tried or applied or points they had. They used to alternate the out of state guys for the landowner tag so they could get one every couple years. Like I said, maybe that has changed....

I ordered some love potion from Nelson Creek outdoors. I never used it before but I saw an add for it on here I believe. Anyway it has a top that you can drip just a little bit out. So on my way in to my stand last weekend every ten steps I dripped some, then when I got to my stand I put a scent wick out......I had a lone doe come through and as soon as she got to my trail she started blowing like crazy. She must have done it 20 times....Never ran and was looking the opposite direction from me. Sure wasn't the reaction I was looking for....

Well...two different spikes have come through. Hopefully some bigger boys are moving as well. I have so much on there is no way o could shoot my bow today. I feel like I can't move! Good luck everyone!
