Awesome as always Wooly.....Thank you for sharing.....

This is going to take me some typing but it is way to good not to share.....probably 20 years ago now I had a friend that broke up with his girl and he was getting upset that he couldn't find anyone with this woe is me attitude. So while he was sitting in my living room I got on the phone and pretended I was calling the paper and set up a personal add with him yelling at me the whole time to stop but I pulled it off with him really thinking I had setup an ad. So I waited a day or two, I don't really remember how long but I was talking to one of the girls in my office about it at the time and she was awesome. I asked her if she would be willing to call him and pretend she was answering the personal ad. So she does and gets my friend on the phone and she is great...asking him all kinds of questions etc...I remember thinking I hope she doesn't get in trouble for being on the phone so long. So my buddy is hook line and sinkered at this point and I can hardly contain myself from falling down I am laughing so hard but the girl was great..she never laughed or let on and just kept talking. So they decide they are going to meet that night for coffee ( don't remember where) but my friend was like how will I recognize you. So the girl tells him (this part was all on her) I am at work right now and I have a big red dress on and I won't have time to change before I meet you so I will be easy to spot....So my buddy says...in this voice I can't explain so you will have to read into it....BIG?????.....So she tells him that she is heavy set and busty and my buddy starts back peddling trying to get out of the meet. She starts getting louder and louder on the phone to the point where she yells at him...what you don't want to meet me because I am fat you POS.....OMG I couldn't take it anymore.....I got on the phone and said OMG...when I pretended to place that ad I never in a million years thought I would get you this good. I thought he was going to kill me. I laugh when I think about it today......I honestly don't remember if that was an April fools joke or not but it is easily the best prank I have ever pulled on someone...

My Daughter just turned 13....she is a really good kid and great student. She listens pretty well to me but not at all to her mother. My daughter thankfully hasn't done anything too bad but if she questions my decision I just tell her that I am making the best decision I can as your parent and you may not like it but I have nothing but your best interest at heart. Doesn't leave whole lot to argue with...Trying to balance your kids growing up and wanting to do things on their own (which I can't blame them for) and thinking about the crazy world we live in is going to keep me up nights for the next several years.....

My parents got our first golden when I was probably 13 or so. They have had them ever since and I have had two as well. Every single one of them is different and has a different personality. Trying to think, we had Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Mollie, Baxter and now my Parents have Chloe. I have had Zimba who passed 3 years ago and now I have Milo. So I have been close to 8 different Goldens and everyone is different. My boy Zimba was the smartest of the bunch but no where near the best looking dog. I don't know how he did it because I never really trained him. He was just always at my side, I even brought him to work everyday. Maybe because he was used to seeing so many people at my work he would only give the people in his "pack" the time of day. Otherwise you were a bother and forget other dogs....he would rip their throat out if he could. Milo is a big goof and has been hard to train but he is loveable and thinks he is the ultimate lap dog. Stays out of trouble for the most part but doesn't listen very well. Chloe is tough on my parents especially at their age.....She is the roughest golden I have seen, has jaws like bear trap and is just wild. My parents have had her at several different classes etc...She is the most challenging golden I have ever seen. She can't catch or fetch to save her life and hates the water. Not sure she is really a golden...lol Mollie was the Frisbee queen...She could catch a Frisbee like those dogs you see at halftime shows and chase it for hours, no interest in a tennis ball at all...just the Frisbee....She was a sweet girl that would just put a smile on your face. Baxter was a big lazy oaf......Never seen a golden with less energy....he weighed like 100 lbs and acted more like as St Bernard then a golden. He was a beautiful dog.....Nutmeg, Ginger and Cinnamon were all what you would think of as a golden but all a little different. All loveable, loyal and fairly well behaved but Ginger had anxiety issues and if you were not home when there was a thunderstorm she would destroy my parents house. I remember she tore up the kitchen floor, chewed a hole in the wall and dug up the carpet in numerous places. Good thing my parents lover her, I think I would have killed her.....

When I was young I couldn't sit still for 10 minutes while deer hunting. I figured I would head out what we called the east ridge for at least a couple miles then cut in go up the west ridge and down the other side and then work my way back to camp. Well, I walked far enough out the east ridge that there wasn't a west ridge after I cut in. I felt like I walked forever. I finally came to a stream that had an old logging road beside it. I was positive I knew the stream but the logging road was on the wrong side so I talked myself out of the fact that I knew where I was. I made so many stupid decisions right there that I would never make today. I followed the stream down even though I should have followed it up. I again walked forever in the wrong direction and I started getting really nervous. I wasn't nervous that I was lost but I was really nervous that my Dad was going to start worrying about me if I wasn't back before dark and didn't want him to go out looking for me. I finally came to a dirt road and that's when I realized I had gone the complete wrong direction. I followed the creek back the opposite way for several miles before and just as it was getting dark I found where the stream crossed the logging trail and I was positive I knew where I was and was going the right way. I started running ( I was in pretty good shape back then) and must have jogged at least 2 or 3 miles in the dark on an old logging road. I finally came out to the dirt road camp was on and knew it was about a mile down. I got back just as everyone at camp was heading out to look for me. Everything told me, even my gut that I was going the wrong way once I hit that stream and I didn't believe it because a stupid logging road was on the wrong side of the creek. What a stupid decision. I have learned to trust myself and my sense of direction and haven't been lost since.

new FBI memo released by Trump
ApexerER replied to Hunter007's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
This is why NOBODY, R or D wanted Trump to be president. We are getting a small peek through a keyhole at how corrupt our Government has truly become. I won't hold my breath but I hope that multiply people whether they are R or D wind up in jail and it doesn't stop until the swamp in drained. -
Always love your pics wooly, Thanks for sharing!

I did, you should have seen him! I left it since Stuben Jerry took the rack and I figured the rest wasn't worth the drag but I will always remember this day.

I the only deer I ever heard bleat was a doe I shot with the bow. She made all kinds of sounds. I have heard grunts and unfortunately have heard several deer blow...

Tracking a huge buck I just shot off First Lights Pumpkin/Apple pile. Used the crossbow since I didn't want to alert anyone. Will post hero pics of buck and bait pile shortly....stay tuned....

Nobody is perfect.....I would be willing to bet the biggest bashers are the worst offenders......

Thank you for sharing! One of my favorite threads throughout the season!

Grow, you must have the worst LEO's in NYS. You have so many problems that would be handled so much differently where I hunt and live. Those dogs would be in a pound in two seconds where I live. I have no idea if there would be fines or not. Is it because you are so far out in the country that people trespassing, shooting deer on your land, letting your dogs run etc is just normal? I can't believe these problems just get blown off like its no big deal. To much area for LEO's to cover? I don't get it....

That is the best feeling crossbow I have ever fired. Says 15.5 axle to axle.....I would have to look at the regs to see if that was NY legal. Can't remember if it was 15" or 17". Anyway its a great crossbow. I have no idea what the point was with the minimum width other than to just be a PIA.

I think the two choices you have mentioned by Tenpoint are very good crossbows. I have shot a Turbo and it was very nice. I have also shot a Horton reverse draw that was awesome, it was well balanced and the scope it came with was fantastic. Both of those are hunting buddies crossbows. I would have to look up the axle to axle on the Horton to see if it was NY Legal. I think it would be close but without measuring I can't be sure. If they redo the legislation and make it legal for all of archery season I will be looking to upgrade my entry level crossbow as well. I will be looking at reverse draw for balance (not front heavy and NY legality). I will also be looking at 10 point. They always feel the best too me when I handle them and the one I have been able to shoot was great.

I have the same crossbow and paid the same price. Although I think it is fine I sure wouldn't call it the best legal crossbow for NYS hunting. The scope was such a POS I took it off and put a Nikon Bolt XR on it and the bolts that came with it were terrible. I am sure it would kill a deer but if you have $1000 to spend there are much better choices. I would have gotten something better if the season was longer but didn't want to spend $1000 bucks on a crossbow I was going to be able to use a couple of times a year.

100 % guess but maybe an old weight for a scale?
