  1. My father with a buck from Letchworth park .The double was my grandfather's Lefever. The pump against the fence may be my father's J.C. Higgins modified choke with a bead sight. Both 12 ga.
  2. I just sent an e-mail to sen. Nozzolio,my rep. asking that he not support S2994.He may have already decided not to support it.We shall see. What a ridiculous bill as so many are.
  3. Hi Four Season.I knew I was next to the safety zone.I see deer in the s.z. by the dam every year during hunting season. It is a sight to see a large herd of deer in my opinion.I have been taking rides,a couple times every winter, by your area for about 20 years now.
  4. I took a ride to Letchworth Park Sun afternoon. On the way out, near the Mt. Morris dam,we counted a total of 105 deer in aprox a 2 mile stretch of half a dozen former corn fields.I guess that proves that the population is pretty high.I didn't notice any racks on any deer.May all be on the ground by now.It was very enjoyable.I tried to get some pictures but my camera doesn't zoom in enough.
  5. I shot about 10 yds. in my basement last year when I couldn't shoot in the backyard, it was great practice for form, hand - eye and muscle development.Finding a range is a great idea and there are 3d shoots around Rochester as well. Some gun clubs have archery ranges too. When I switched to a release and carbon arrows years ago,I couldn't use the target I had been using because the arrows went through it.
  6. Wooly, have you thawed out yet and have you been able to sleep without flashbacks? Good thing you didn't panic.
  7. My user-name is from the biggest deer I was lucky enough to give a ride to my house.I had it scored after it dried and it totaled 132 gross and 130 net so of course I went with the bigger number!
  8. My son is a senior in high school. He told me a student had a kitchen knife and fork on the front seat of a vehicle parked in the school parking lot and was disciplined for it.Zero tolerance means loss of common sense.
  9. Unfortunately I have never had the pleasure of shooting a lever action rifle,I have owned Marlin shotguns,I enjoyed the historical facts of the article .
  10. I have been looking at the lower priced dslr cameras lately and may purchase one shortly.I would like to purchase one with a 300 mm lens for wildlife photography.I like your picture of the hawk with the snake.
  11. I shouldered one of them bad boys last year at a gun shop.It fit well.I think you will like it.Let us know.
  12. Interesting article and exactly why I think hunters deserve an income tax credit from N.Y.S for the service provided.
  13. I just saw it for the first time on the F & S website.Pretty funny.
  14. You might want to mention the deer "problem" you noticed and see if he needs any help with that.If you need any volunteers I am sure I could find some time to help out as well.
  15. My only experience is with 2-3/4 12ga. slugs. I have killed deer with foster slugs and sabot. If the slug is in the right place there is no way a deer should go far if at all.The majority of the deer I have taken were 50 yds or less .
  16. How about a tax credit for hunters? If you think about the valuable service we provide don't we deserve a write off for some of the expenses?
  17. The Jets lost to a good team, unlike the Saints!
  18. Nice pictures.I did not know there are reward bands.
