  1. I would be thrilled with a buck like that with bow!Congratulations.
  2. That is great to know there are some giant bucks running around western N.Y. Congratulations to her.
  3. My thoughts are with the Docteur family . May Eric always live in your memories.
  4. Hopefully that person is harmless.Let us know what the police say.
  5. I know people that have used the seat part of a climber as a tree seat.I used a tree seat a few years ago and shot a buck at about 10 yds. not long after I sat down. Tree seats are a lot easier to transport . But if you don't wan't to spend the $$ use the climber seat.
  6. These people that want to act like outlaws from the old west era should be dealt with accordingly.Presuming they are guilty of course.Hanging or firing squad would be justified in my opinion.
  7. Lake shore marshes on the East side of Sodus bay.6130 acres.Brochure available from NYS. 585-226-2466. I found this info in a hunting guide to the Finger Lakes region.
  8. Very cool, thanks.I have a bleat but have never had that response.Maybe I will give it another try.
  9. I'm not sure where you;re going with that one Bubba but I've believed that stuff was unnecessary for a long time. My grandfather went out every year with a SxS 16 guage smoothbore with external hammers, a flannel shirt, and blue Dickie's workpants and he did just fine. I am of the opinion that half this stuff is for the hunters more than for the game. I second that.My grandfather I was told used a sxs 12 ga. Lefever for all game back in the 50's and 60's. Red wool pants and jackets. Also one of the first bowhunting videos (remember vhs?) I bought had Chuck Adams saying to wear an open patterned flannel shirt to break up your outline.Anyone remember being told to put things like leaves in with your clothes for a cover scent?
  10. A friend of mine doesn't shoot doe.I will if it is old enough.I enjoy venison while my friend wants a trophy. Around Rochester I feel a few less doe are a few less I will see splattered on the side of the road.Up in the big woods of the Northern zone may be a different story.
  11. WOW! What a buck. Gives us Rochester hunters something to look forward to.
  12. I would try going through the police or dec.If by the next day the deer were still alive, a .22 to the back of the head when it couldn't see me would be justified in MY opinion.
  13. I was fortunate to take a doe last weekend, thought I was pretty calm until after the doe ran off with my arrow sticking out of her. That is when I realized how fast my heart was beating.Ah adrenaline !
  14. Now that is cool! Nice turkey and bow.
  15. Last Sun. 10/17 a friend of mine was using his 18 year old welded alum. climber. When he started climbing down a weld broke and part of the hand climber flew off! His old safety strap, the kind not sold anymore, caught him. He hugged the tree and finished climbing down. Then he went home, changed his shorts and ordered a Summit!
  16. If someone gets three is it called a "turkey"? Congrats. Hope I get one this year with my Wolf.
  17. Thank you. I used an inexpensive 100 grain three blade expandable . I bought them several years ago and it was the last one I had of that brand so honestly I don't even remember. It went through both sides like a skewer, destroyed one lung and nicked the heart.Great blood trail made tracking fairly easy.
  18. I posted this under another thread but what the heck.after many years of hunting, this is the first deer from the county I actually live in.(Monroe).Got her sun 10/17 @ 8:00 am. 15 yds broadside. She stared at me in my climber a few minutes before.Guess I finally looked like part of the tree.
