  1. Good shoot this morning. Took another first timer. He had a ball. 240 recovered. Some landed in the corn that we couldn’t get to. Great video coverage too.
  2. Slow shoot this morning. The birds stopped short of our field And fed in the newly bailed wheat across the street. Ended with 30 birds. Live and learn. We need to have a cpl 200 bird shoots.
  3. Im a classic browning nut myself. I own no less than 30 belgian auto 5s. My weakness is sweet 16s. I also have several citori 16s. I bought the new A5s for high volume pigeon hunting. Their flaw is the rotating lug where it rotates on the pin. Have to keep it well lubed with clp oil. Same with the bolt rails. They are great handling guns but nothing more than expensive stamped out aluminum garbage.
  4. Decent shoot this morning. Killed 150. Could have done much better but my gun refused to cycle shells after the first few flocks. Very frustrating. Sent all 3 new Browning a5s Back for repairs this winter and. Ow only 2 of the 3 are cycling properly.
  5. Tomorrow will be the first hunt over the cut wheat. Scouted it this morning snd had 600-800 feeding in the one field. Hoping its a good shoot.
  6. 26 this morning in high winds and rain. Hunted alone. Went late...well after peak feeding time. Waiting for my nephew to be able to go nxt week. I hate going without him.
  7. First wheat fields finally cut and at my favorite farm. Dekes and shells are ready if we don’t get rained out!!
  8. First hunt of the year. Its still a bit early as the wheat is not yet cut. Nephew and I dusted off the dekes yesterday and killed 13 in a half hour. Can’t wait for the big numbers soon. Added 4 new motion decoys to the spread. They looked awesome out in the wind.
  9. What outrages me is watching these animals (black...white...brown...) taunting and physically engaging officers, knowing that since their every move is under a microscope they cannot or should not react even to protect themselves. I say the hell with it....there are lines that should not be crossed.....if you push yourself over the 99 yard line, then you do so at your own risk. What the liberal agenda is fostering is world of lawlessness and fear to protect yourself. Enough is enough.
  10. Nice catch. We struggled finding decent fish this morning. We were south of 109 in that scumline. Lots of shorts. Dropped some good ones at the boat. Jigging raps mostly. Then it got a little too choppy.
  11. I am dying to get down to the WB. Conditions are perfect for wading right now. WIFE and I may take a quick ride down Monday. Im hoping it isn’t mobbed with ppl. Let me know how you make out and the numbers of ppl. Good luck to you.
  12. Not the news I was hoping for, but at least you know what you are dealing with and can prepare to meet it head on. Have faith, stay strong, stay positive and be the best Husband and Father you can be.
  13. I wish I could offer to cover you with court appearances but we are a few districts away and thank God for you right now the courts are still closed. Take this time for family. Nothing else matters. Clients and colleagues will understand and those sho do not...tough sh.t!!
  14. Any update, brother? Thoughts and prayers are with you.
  15. Nice bird down at 5:49 this morning. 9.5 inch beard...1” spurs..They were hot. Group of 8 2 yr olds. Came in so hot nephew couldn't get to his off side for a double. There had to be 12 different gobblers going within 75 yards at one time. Fog was heavy. It was neat seeing them run in through the fog.
  16. I killed 75 percent of my turkeys with 2 3/4 inch high velocity #4 loads before I was compelled to buy “turkey” loads. Flattened them Plenty
  17. Get yourself a BAR iin 30-06 and keep the ammo. It kicks like a 20 ga and is a tack driver.
  18. I have killed most of mine early season. I think a lot depends on how much pressure a particular area gets as the season unfolds. I had some easy kills the last week, but I am usually fly fishing the Delaware as much as possible the second half of May.
  19. I love the upper west. It is where I spend most of my time. I love the entire system but always gravitate to the upper west. I remember when no one fished it and would all clamber down below. I also loved fishing above there West Branch Angler is before it existed. Now you need to take a ticket to get a place to fish, let alone the drift boats all day long.
  20. My shop was in Oneida County. It is no longer. I closed it in 2005. My law practice was too demanding to keep the hobby at that point.
  21. Prior to practicing law I owned a small fly fishing shop and built custom fishing rods. I commuted to law school so I could continue building rods for several other shops and most of the steelhead shops in Pulaski. I would study until 10 pm...build rods until 1:00 am...then deliver rods before or after my commute. On weekends I guided steelhead fisherman and in the Spring I guided on the Delaware river. I kept building rods while practicing law until 2006. Did it for 15 years. Now I only build fly rods for family and dear friends and of course my personal obsessive collection.
