I do 3/8" slices of strap. Thin slices cook very fast. A simple flash fry is enough and they stay juicy!

Welcome to HNY. Experience will come with time and a little patience. Best of luck in the upcoming season! The NYSDEC website has all the legal info that you'll need, but sometimes understanding the written laws can be a little tricky. Let us know how we can help.

Correct and cholesterol doesn't get burned like fats do, it is controlled by limiting intake. I'll add to my story and say that my buddy wasn't in the greatest shape to start with, but a high dosage of cholesterol seemingly compounded a very serious problem.

I like to flash fry the straps in a skillet and dash them with some Pinch seasoning. I like to taste the venison, not sauces or bacon. As for the hearts, the only way I've ever had them was pickled and I recommend it. A friend of mine had a stroke 2 years ago and his doctor directly attributed it with the consumption of 3 deer hearts within a short period .

Your first shot is the one that counts. The rest are just for practicing your shooting form. Too much shooting in 1 session can lead to fatigue, which in turn can cause you to lose your form. If you shoot alot using bad form you can/will pick up bad habits, like dropping your bow arm or torquing the bow. If your torquing the bow alot, install a bow sling and shoot with an open hand.

While watching Moonshiners which I do like, there was a commercial for a new show featuring Tickle from moonshiners. They're going to name the show Tickle. What a joke! Why would I watch the Discovery channel to see a lame brained drunkard flirt with disaster. Yeah, driving around with an open can of beer is really something that children should be seeing.

My grandpa left me a pre-war Remington model 11 (Browning patent, basically the same gun as the A-5). He passed 2 years ago, so I used it that deer season so I could feel like he was hunting with me . I found out that you have to flip the brass recoil ring over for heavy loads. The thing was recoiling back so hard that it knocked my front (tru-glo) sight off. Once I flipped the ring, all was well. I just wanted to pass that along in case you weren't aware. They are awesome guns and true workhorses!

I just threw a few leftover slugs through my 51 featherweight deerslayer on Sunday. Still throws em' like a champ in it's old age!

ha. Guess that is saying that Albany has got this all under control! Phew!

I hated T-mobile and Verizon. They always gave me spotty service. Been with straight talk for a couple years. Always get service and it's pretty straight forward, buy card from walmart, input card number into phone and voila!

Nice pics! Almost time to take my fiance and dog out spotlighting.

You ever see those Vietnam veterans holding a sign that they will work for food? We all have and they would probably love the serenity of the forest. As well as a place to lay their head and food in their belly. Just a thought. As a side note, who better to protect your property than an American Veteran!

Culver Creek beat me to it, Federal rifled slugs outshine the rest IMHO and yes, at 25 yds. a slug gun can punch the center out quite consistantly. A cigarette pack @ 100 is not unreasonable with the right sights and shooter.

Yeah I had to re-take mine back 5-6 years ago because I lost my original certificate from 16 years ago. I hadn't bought a license in a while so I wasn't in the computer. They let us bring our own bows, this was in Spencer,NY

download and print a good sunrise/sunset chart for your area and keep it in your bow case. I use thishttp://www.sunrisesunset.com/usa/

not for coyotes, so you technically didn't get it wrong!

Solar lights to create the illusion that someone is home. Then some cardboard silhouettes in the windows. Beware of dog signs. A loud door alarm will probably scare them off. A bunch of fake cameras placed where they will see them. Board it up. Use heavy screws and purposely strip the screw heads. Just bring a battery powered sawzall with you to gain entry.

If you had to choose...

Looks good. -
I might get to check the trailcams before season lol, but as long as the woods and wildlife are still there I'm all set.

Not sure if there is another source for that info. It would be wise to make a list of your choices according to whether or not you have points.

I hear ya growalot. I'm a trapper and I do all I can to avoid catching them. Not because of rabies, but the fact that they're nasty and greasy to skin/flesh, especially the huge boars that end up in my traps!

Stands.. what are those? I haven't even begun, but I don't stress over it at all. If I just get to hunt, I'll consider myself lucky. I play the ground game alot in the bow woods, so I move around and often find myself in the gnarliest of thickets on a buck super-highway, sitting motionless behind a bush. My dad and I spent an evening doing some recon and the 9 bucks we watched feeding in the plot boosted my confidence! A few scrub bucks, a few with potential and 2 nice 8 points. I don't hunt it much though, I like to leave them for him so he can hunt on his 1 day off per week. I can hardly wait for the sweet smell in the air. Just like every year, as season draws closer I can feel excitement welling up inside of me. It can be compared to a good buzz!

Hello suman, welcome to huntingNY. It seems that your post has fallen into the wrong thread. Maybe not. Were you just trying to inform us of this? How do you know of all these threads if you just joined 1 1/2 hours ago?
