  1. Looks nice witty, there could be some good spots there. If you can find the food, bedding zones, and water that's a good start. Keep an eye out for last years rubs too, they're still visible.
  2. Better follow that up with a steak or some peanut butter!
  3. 1600 Walmarts already have them(ahead of next week's scheduled comeback). I really never cared for them, but Hostess cakes and Zingers are pretty good.http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2013/07/12/twinkies-make-early-return-wal-mart/2511927/
  4. It would do you good to get a few sets of camo. Lightweight, medium, and heavyweight. I really like fleece because it's not noisy. Good warm boots and gloves are a must. I have a pair of Baffins that are about $40 from sportsmans guide. They're pretty good boots for the price. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/swamp-boots-by-baffin.aspx?a=467770
  5. Because of a sign on MY backdoor? Yeah my family has fought for freedom in every war since the American Revolution so that some methhead can come through my door and off me or my fiance..... not gonna happen!
  6. Open: "Your honor, they were warned! Closed.
  7. In that case, refer back to picture #1 I keep this one on my back door
  8. and foliage/brush can weaken ice.
  9. Don't sit on a stump....Be the stump! As far as using the rain, I do when I can. Pre season stands are usually in early enough to let things settle. Checking cams and making mock scrapes/rubs is a good time to utilize an approaching rain since you'll be right in the deer's travel paths.
  10. Scout, scout, scout! You must find the route they're traveling, when they're traveling it, and why. Whether it be food, safety, avoiding the heat, or bedding. Early season can be the easiest time to pattern deer if you put the time and effort into it. The worst thing you could do is to just jump in the swamp and hope they don't know you're there. Bow season is long, take your time!
  11. They can spot a foul hooked fish from a pretty good distance with their binocs. I'd think they could see some #'s
  12. It's my understanding that the hogs will have a tendency to go nocturnal with increased hunting pressure. We've definitely seen tracks. They closely resemble deer tracks. I had an experience last summer while out mushroom hunting where I saw a jet black animal which equaled the size of a bear, but the sound of it running was that of a heavy hoofed animal. I was in a pine thicket and the animal was only 30-35yds away. I couldn't see features, only jet black. So my cousin and I returned a day or so later to check for tracks and spotted a small black critter running away, but couldn't make a 100% ID They're here! A.Deer B.Feral hog C.European wild boar
  13. I've been finding small clusters of oysters too. Not really even enough to bother with. If in doubt, throw it out! I'm not sure what you have there. Here's a few of my recent "unknown". The arrow in some of the pics is one that I lost last year and just found it.
  14. That's cuz the rest of the state has been doin' it for ages! LOL Heck, I didn't know what asphalt was til' I was 17
  15. Welcome! Hopefully your boys will be interested as well

Happy Birthday Hope it's a goodun'
  17. 10-4 I'm on it. I knew it wouldn't be long for the hogs in NY to make the news again. We tried hunting them a few times a couple years ago, but no luck. My dad saw a piglet but it quickly vanished into the underbrush.
  18. 13BVET- I don't know much about the nuisance permit process, but that could be a route to take if you feel like your self, property or animals are in jeopardy of being harmed. 15-20 years ago I started to wage a war on yotes for killing a family dog(jack russell terrier named Gidget). I hated them, but nowadays I respect them as a formidable adversary. Successfully harvesting a yote is not an easy task. Doing so enhances hunting prowess. I may sometime rustle some people's jimmies on this topic, but coyote hunting is very much a mainstay in my hunting repertoire. I love it!
  19. Huh? I was simply stating that we have many non native species(that we don't try to wipe out). Wolves and cougars inhabited NY in the past, no? They're known to be more voracious killers, no? Did the native prey species take that big of a hit? No. Coyotes are native to the mid west. Do people out there wipe them out? No. Could the people out there wipe them out? No. As for the yuppy, no I wasn't. Didn't you see the universal symbol for laughing? LOL That'd be hilarious, seeing guys waiting for daylight in their vehicles! I try not to call names, because then people want to start getting cocky with their chests puffed and I have to let the air out of em'. Sitting in the clink makes for a boring evening.
  20. Wolves are native. Lets bring them back! We'd find out quick who the yuppys are when they wont walk to their treestands until it's light out! LOL Brown trout, rainbow trout, and ring-necked pheasants are not native either.
  21. Most if not all coyote fur is worthless by the beginning of April.
  22. I may have asked before, but will a pressure switch be available?
