    The reality of my situation is starting to hit me now. I've still been out and will continue to get out but this year my father hung up his bow and my son can't get out with all the football stuff happening. My dad says he just can't do the walking and all anymore and my boy like I said has all his football stuff, next weekend is sectional finals and state playoffs after that if they win. This is the first year since I was 16 I haven't now hunted with my dad and the past 2 have been the 3 of us. Now I actually feel a little lonely in the woods. The three of us when my bow was 7. Nine years ago, man time flies.

    7p rain went down to a light drizzle maybe even heavy mist. Wish I didn't get soaked this morning, I'm sure it would be a good evening tonight. Back at it in the morning.

    Got in the stand at 6 with a light rain no big deal. Put the tree umbrella up, at about 7:15 the rain picked up and stayed steady. Never really got windy but decided at 9:45 to climb down. On wall out to truck jumped a doe with a fawn. The boy has a football game at 1:30 so I won't be in the woods again until tomorrow. Good luck out there.

    Not sure what route you wanna take but I have a buddy that does them with beetles and can mount them on a plaque. If you want let me know I'll get his number to you. He's just North of Binghamton. Here's a couple he's done for me.

    That sucks I hate those kind of tags. Wish I still had the pic of mine he was my biggest New York buck to date and was worth $7200 in repair.

    7P got in the stand around 2pm. 2:20 lone doe walks down old logging road and beds 50 yds in front of me. 3:30'ish she gets up goes back the way she came until I can't see her. 3:50 lone die from other side of me mills through closest was 25yds. 4:15 small spike comes from other side of me went into brushy bedding area behind me. At 5:30 2 doe come from bedding and decide to head to my left and the bigger of the two decides to stand there and blow until dark. Guess that set is getting a rest for a bit. If it's not pouring in the am going to try a stand I hung this summer. Did have pics of a small 4pt. And a doe working the mock scrape I made.

    7P saw 4 doe a spike in between the times I saw the doe. No fawns with any of the doe. Pulled my card no new bucks but a little 4 pt working a mock scrape and a pic of a doe using it also.

    That's the way I normally and prefer to do it as well. I did take normal scent precautions and figured with the rain today that would hopefully wash out most of what scent I left behind. I just didn't have another time, opportunity knocked and I answered the door.

    I only asked cause I had one that I wanted to move and couldn't get to it before this weekend. So last night I shined the light on a few of the surrounding fields and deer where all over so i figured what the hell. I didn't bump any but i can tell you when turkeys take off out of the roost in the pitch black it made me pucker up a bit.

    Just curious if anyone checks or moves their cams at night. I mean like after 9pm.

    A buddies son got him at 7:20 this morning. I won't be in the woods until tomorrow.

    Got out this morning here in Broome for a sit until 9:30ish. At about 8 had two die and a button buck come in and mill around for a bit. 15 minutes after they left a young fisher cat was climbing around in the trees about 15 yards away from me.

    Found some new ribs and a scrape this morning. Also saw two doe with a button buck.

    This is my grandfather when he was fifteen a year before he lied to uncle Sam and enlisted in the Navy. He said he shot this rabbit on his way to the mill. Here he is a year later at 16 in the Navy.
