50yrds is my max only on a dead calm animal in light to no wind conditions. I can shoot good beyond that range. But as fast as an animal can make your perfect hear shot a miss or gut or wherever shot.. i wont shoot further.. It isnt just the person, but the deer as well.. controlling where that arrow goes at that point. JMO

Finally got to do my 60yard setup to finish fine tuning my new sight. Not bad for the first group, after the 1st arrow broke into 4 pieces. Lol atleast it was an old arrow I I used first.. few more rounds and I was good. Not bad for not shooting pass 20 so far this year Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Yea, i was thinking of finding an old drill possiblly, or taking a set of disks preferably 3pt, and building onto it. I have a few links saved of setups guys have made from just a single row of disks. then a "groomer or blade" at the rear to cover seed. But i definitely have to some more research on gears for the seed sizes. Let me find these links, see what you think lol -

Awesome, I'll remember that. I've been looking at no till drills and definitely can not afford one. I did all my plots thus year (besides 1) nontill method. If i can keep the soil from being exposed to air and keep nutrients in, im all for it. I've also been watching videos on how to build at no till drill.. Pretty simple really.. and cool. I work in a fab/machine shop so I can hopefully build the majority of the steel work there and then assemble it all at home. Plus it's fun building things and seeing them work as hoped for lol. How are the turnips coming along?

Should have taken a pic last night, in this bottom pic, the date was Aug31. checked them last night and if you notice the stake sticking up throught the plants, they are now about 6" taller than that atake. The stake is about 22" out of the ground. Very impressed with the Double Beam with our lack of rian we have had this summer. -
If it doesnt flood out, id plant it. It would make a good kill plot possibly depending on its location and available bedding cover near by. Especially if they cant come up or over the Creek bank, they will only be able to enter and exit certain ways..

Thanks for the info, greatly appreciated. Safety first. -
We use a nice big wood stove in the living room for heating purposes, and have the hook up and the stove for propane as a backup if needed. Just need a new tank dropped. But this monarch my grandfather used when he was alive and when he was always at camp. He passed in 2013 and that chimney went bad around 2011. We are only there until December typically with the weather and being on a seasonal dead end road .. it's usually rough to get to when they pile the snow up at the beginning of the rd. We will be in the process of modernizing a little bit in the next year or 2.. to make it a little more comfortable for the women hunters of the family lol and the toddlers running around. Next year I'm going to leave this all clover since they are hammering that. But possibly make the whole plot bigger in size and shape, if I get my tractor running again by then. If not it will stay clover. I have 2 other bigger plots I rotate brassicas with either clover or soybeans. And they don't touch those brassicas til after a few frosts like normal.. Hey all, I was just curious if anyone here knew the range of value for this wood cooking stove? Its brand Monarch made in Wisconsin. Or possibly be interested in it. It works as it should, it comes with all tools, and is quite clean. Hasnt been used in probably 7 years. We picked up an electric stove and dont need this anymore. Trying to clean up camp some this fall and we will be trying to get rid of this, as soon as we can find time to do so. I dont know much about these, when it comes to worth. I havent had much time to research them either, but saw a couple of them on ebay for 500-700$.. Thank you all in advance.

Still looks good. We got some good rains this weekend, luckily. Hopefully just enough time and this week's warm weather and pray some later frosts Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -

I believe i have the only good green summer food source here, being the clovers. The neighbors have brassicas growing as well, but i have the only near by clover. Besides dry rough looking corn in a couple farm fields, and some hay fields good part was the batteries werent dead, the cam just didnt want to show me the LCD screen for some reason, 1500 pics in 2.5 weeks over this plot.. heres a few, no shooters, but we got action in more ways than one lol -

Turnips were doing great, left cams out for about 3 weeks, went to pull cards today to find out one of three brassica plots got annihilated in the pass week or two. Along with the clovers that I mowed Labor Day. The whole plot looks destroyed they hit it so hard. On top of that the batteries in the cam I have over that plot were dead, hope it was due to the amount of activity .. This is 2 years in a row they hammered this plot in September. And none of my others. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -

I tried to get my 60 yard shots in to finally get my new HHA sight totally sighted in, but got interrupted as soon as i set the block target up, walked back and picked up my bow... I never go to shoot that night lol Ill try again this weekend..
