It's like a train wreck... can't take your eyes off it
  2. you forgot.. rant rave you've been served rabble babble
  3. That's right Doc... one must weigh the consequences based on where we are in the fight. Makes no sense to give up all your guns and freedoms at this stage of the game. Best to stay on the right side of the law and live to continue fighting the good fight another day. That doesn't mean that I'm beyond doing something foolish just to make a point... God knows I've done that before.
  4. Now that is just stirring up the pot...
  5. That rule was washed up with the inclusion of inline muzzleloaders to the primitive muzzleloader season years ago... and if we're honest, inclusion of the compound into archery season.
  6. An unelected official should not be allowed to start new projects where taxpayer money is involved.
  7. Pretty obvious to some.. many hunters can't tell a mature buck when it has antlers..lol
  8. Let me translate for those that haven't gotten it yet... QDMA is promoting the spread of CWD... you may not have picked up on that subtle point... and for those that just are completely baffled and confused by all FSW's posts.. you may not realize it but you've been served.. another point that may confuse you as well... if you find yourself making sense of any of this nonsense you may need some sleep or have an inner ear infection. I'm sorry, but this crap is so ridiculous.. I can't help myself.
  9. Recurves are only rare to those that don't shoot traditional... you'd be surprised at how many bow hunters use traditional equipment still... I'm around them all the time... trad gang.com is one of the largest archery sites on the internet. But you're right.. only time will tell... nothing surprises me anymore
  10. Oh No... That ought to throw him into a tailspin. Blows all his BS right out of the water.
  11. But the crossbow is not new technology... it is older than old technology.
  12. The big one would be that all does would get bred in the first estrous and fawns being born earlier giving them plenty of time to grow before the next winter. But, even with a 1:1 ratio carrying capacity still has to be at a level conducive to good herd health given the habitat available. Ratio is only a small part of total herd health.
  13. I hope you didn't take that the wrong way.. I just figured you a bit more like the bookworm type, not necessarily the mans-man type. You look more the outdoorsman type than I do... I was just surprised how "burly" you look is all. The facial hair took me totally by surprise! Only 180.. I got you by about 5 or 10 pounds (185-190)
  14. It's about time someone finally pointed out what the bottom line is... and that is to keep the deer population down...Just makes sense that easier would be better to accomplish this... I've never been one for easier, but if the objective is to kill deer in the most affective way then easier would be a huge plus.
  15. How do you think compounds got their entrance into bow hunting? ... or inline muzzleloaders?... Consumerism drives everything new. I'm not sure I would call it infecting the hunting community, but rather giving hunters what they want... Whether any of us like it or not... if there is a market for it... it will probably make it's way into hunting eventually. Whether or not it's good or bad for hunting depends on which side of the issue you're on.
  16. I have seen that many coyotes in the back of a fellas truck, but him and his buddies took them over the course of a day and many different areas miles apart. They are machines when it comes to killin' and trappin' coyotes
  17. Doc... is that you on the ATV? That is definitely not the guy I had pictured in my head. I had you pegged for the clean cut, run a mile in the morning after some oatmeal kind of guy.. boy was I wrong!
  18. Yeah things certainly have changed since the bird hunting of the 60's and 70's... not the turkeys as today.. but ohhhhh the pheasants, woodcock and grouse!
  19. Pretty sure I'm here to stay.. but I think I'd like Montana or Wyoming
  20. Lots of grouse up my way as well... saw a few woodcock this year too.. haven't seen one of those it quite a while. See lots of grouse sunning themselves on the old stone walls during bow season when the sun is out... makes me wish I could carry a small pistol with the bow... just afraid of ruining too many arrows on the stone wall... even if I don't miss. Wooden arrows don't hold up well against the stone. Sometimes I'll bring a .22 in the truck and trade some deer hunting for some grouse hunting on a warm afternoon during the bow season. Such a tasty bird and easy to clean
