Are you crazy? Would you like every hunter in the county to tromp all over your fields? I know I would'nt, its seems like you think the farmers owe you something..they dont i assure you. And I'm fairly certain farmers dont get the permits for fun. We hunt and own 200 acres we dont get the permits, but I assure you if I wanted them I would get them. And if you said something like that to me (who was losing money due to deer),or brought the idea to another farmer. We would be tempted to get the permits and kill every deer in the area, just to prove the point and ruin it for you.

I have been impressed with the Pure Gold tube I bought recently

they are really starting to group up now, saw 15 does tonight. Be careful saw three deer enter field yesterday, but didnt bother to glass them because they were all eating. something caught my eye raised the binos to see a nice 6 eating with them, he didnt seem remotely interested in them.

LOOKING FOR A DEER RIFLE FOR NEXT YEAR.
jr.deerslayer replied to Robinson446's topic in Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
There's nothing wrong with the 25-06 either, awesome knockdown power -
The last snow we got mounted was 275..............and that was ten years ago, hopefully you wont get sticker shocked.
-
How much are they getting to mount a gooose now?
-
I've seen deer everyday for gun season, actually for the past three weeks I have seen six in the same spot everyday, i can set my watch by it. Normally I see around ten a day, just their doe's not any huge bucks so far..............hopefully later on.

Pass shooting them as they go over the house, done that as well, but I don't really consider that crow hunting thats more along the lines of crow shooting lol. I was talking more along the serious lines, your blue jeans kinda stick out in a snowy hedgerow lol. CNY Ya pass shooting is fun when you dont have much time. We also do it for real though, and they are extremely wary, I believe sometimes more so than ducks or geese.

Do you prefer real or fake
jr.deerslayer replied to Culvercreek hunt club's topic in General Chit Chat
Nothing beats the smell of real pine in the living room. But then again nothing beats getting the fake out of the basement plugging it in and be ready to go, plus you dont have to worry about stepping on those blue spruce needles that go through your foot and hurt for two days after. -
It can be extremely easy, I've shot hundreds just by pass shooting them when they came low over the house with nothing more than bluejeans and a pocket of shells. On the other hand when we get seriuos the head to toe camo comes out along with the decoys, caller and mojo hawk.

We actually weld our name into our treestands, good thing to do if it ever disappears

I know that ravens are bigger and make a wierd noise. I didnt realize that they were protected.
-
Actually Remington is not the only one with that feature, browning and mossberg also incorporate it and they do it very well.
-
I actually dont shoot a Remington unless its an emergency. But your thought is correct, however it was not the case, because we have issues with oil before,(over oiling) espieccally when its freezing.I believe the problem resulting in the factory grinding something.
-
Burt, Culver and I actually don't know if our 11-87's would cycle the third shot or not because we have always bagged something with the first or second shots. LOL Just kidding there! Steve on the third shot we already have two dead ducks and were lookin' for the third to drop as well!! ;D
-
I dont know were you guys are shopping but i have never paid over 50 dollars to have a bow restrung. Why replace the cables, unless they have a problem, just replace the string
-
Our hunting group has owned and used 1187's for years. When you're hunting in cold weather and its wet, you tend to see the problems. We have never seen a 1187 that worked flawlessly. I can remember one, brand new that would not cycle the third shot, and the second which on close inspection had a cracked reciever. Both were returned to the company and fixed but when you are out in the field , you are pretty much screwed for the rest of the month waiting on a shotgun. Not trying to bash Remington, we have owned a few too. Just saying none of them are without their problems.
-
Are you talking about the new one?
-
We havent gotten the courage to place them in the woods yet. very expensive to have disappear.
-
It can be an awesome time after deer season. Easy to do and fun to shoot.
-
thank god you shoot a semi
-
Unfortunately nothings enough, a treestand can never be totally protected. we have had our fair share stolen on the land we own and farm. Pretty ballsie too, were always wandering around our property.
-
its hard to beat the SBE i personaly own a beretta but my friends all hunt with the benelli's. they never had a problem with them other than personal error when someone would hit the slide with their hand, not letting it shut right.
-
i used to shoot a winchester synthetic 300 mag but it was so light you could only shoot it a handful of times before it started to bother you, and if you hit a deer with it, a grenade looked like it had been stuck in the deer.

Ya, but its nice to have a little weight when shooting a big caliber
