Daughter made it 2 hours this morning but was too cold for her. A decent set of Bibs are in order so she can stay longer. Beauty of a morning though.

Headed out with my daughter shortly. Hoping to get her into some rut action even though we will just be spectating. Good luck all!

Haven't killed near as many deer as many on here, but every deer i've killed has come before 2:30PM.... I have missed a couple during the evening though

Low for the year temp wise was uneventful for the early morning. All day sit was mandatory for where I was and the wind got better as the morning progressed. I get ansy after about 3 hours which is customary but I settled in and was good. At 12:45 this guy made his way up the small ridge at 30, but began to work away. I have no idea why (no scent or calls used) he turns and walk dead at me. He gets to 15 and shakes, wind is perfect. I draw on the shake and he comes two more steps and quarters too. I hate this shot, both too steep and quartering too. I held steady and was comfortable and let it go. waited til 4, tracked till dark. Had blood all the way. Was a liver. Bumped him last night, but Winston made it happen!!! Can’t thank D&W enough. Awesome guy and I know he went through some shit and never said a word. Made my year and season.

Not live Per se but shortly after my last text on here yesterday, I got one. Needless to say I let it lay and began the track at 4. Bumped it and stopped the track at dark. Called a dog which came this morning and we had success. Awesome guy and awesome dog. Tired as hell , story and pics later. My PB is down and at the butcher. Congrats to those that scored as well.

All quiet so far. Wind swirling a bit but seems to have settled in a workable direction. All day sit is a go. Congrats to those who have scored !

A balmy 32 degrees has me pumped for a 4 day weekend of hunting, weather permitting. Good luck all!

I have an old API hang-on that has started to creak when putting the seat up or down. Was thinking of using a cooking oil spray? Obviously worried about scent and changing the hardware is not happening this year. Curious as to what fixes you guys have used when your stands make unwanted noise. Thanks !

Truth. I bowhunt 4j, we all know what that is. Hi density area. I’ve had this opportunity since 2019. I shot a doe with my daughter and would again but, my sightings have been way down this year which is why I asked initially. If it remains scarce, I will definitely err on the side of caution. Unfortunately I can’t smell Bc of allergies so there’s that.

Was such a nice morning, but the deer forgot to get out of bed.

I have the 29th and 1st off. May move the 29th to the 2nd or 4th based upon weather situation. 11/5 - 11/15 look like my rut vacation for me. I may make some adjustments based upon my kids schedules and weather.
