  1. I don't understand why people wouldn't wear gloves. You're putting your arms elbow-deep into a cavity full of biological scum. You have one cut on you, one cuticle torn out, anything, and all that bacteria and god knows what else can migrate into your system. You can get parapoxvirus if you're not careful - who needs nodules and lesions all over their arms for no reason at all? Lastly, you shoot a deer through the ribcage and now you have sharp bone shards all up in there and why not protect yourself from a nasty cut like that?
  2. Don't upgrade your Windows, throw that broken spyware out. Buy a Mac instead ;p
  3. I'm going to be in southern Sterling Forest all this season. There's definitely tons of hunting space if you're willing to hump in a bit. I usually park over at East Shore Road on Greenwood Lake and go in from there and set up close to the Jersey state line. Last year I saw a couple of bucks, I passed them in the hope they matured some for this season. I also saw a ton of does and maybe half dozen yotes. Saw a good amount of bear tracks but didn't actually see the animal. There were a couple of guys on quads coming over from the Jersey side some late afternoons but they didn't bother me none. Good luck to everyone hunting there
  4. I usually wear the old US Army woodland camo jacket and pants. My current sets need replacing so I'm going to go with something else this year:
  5. Bubonic plague is not a problem any more because we know the vector. It's not like 600 years ago when everyone would just roll around in giant piles of rat filth and flog themselves to atone for their sins. I mean yeah, it's definitely a problem for the person that gets it, but it's not like it's going to spread to any large number of people.
  6. Don't feed the troll, let your information stand on its own. The people who appreciate it will find it useful, those with an agenda will always try to derail things.
  7. I only hunt state lands, bigger places like the NJ Newark Watershed or Sterling Forest. If you're willing to go deep enough, you can pretty much eliminate 95% of the competition. I have some spots I hunt where I know I'm not going to see any other human that day, hunter density there is maybe one guy per 200 acres. You have to be willing to hump in through swamps, boulder fields, thick laurels, but if you make the effort you will see the big buck you want.
  8. Sterling Forest is almost completely in 3P. No change, no antler restrictions, no does-only. I thought I'd be hunting the Newark Watershed in NJ this year but no.
  9. "We are here to confiscate your late wife's guns." "Yeah, I don't know what you're talking about." "Her guns, give them to us!" "I don't know anything about those, if my wife had them they were her property, not sure what she did with them." "We have a warrant to search this house!" "Come right in and take a look." ... "We didn't find any guns...but we might be back! Anytime!" "Thank you and come again."
  10. Yeah sorry, life is better than ever. Old people gonna bitch about something, always.
  11. IMHO the profile views number is fake. I only have 53 posts. I also have 762 profile views. My latest visitors to my profile shows: 2 in March. 1 in May. 1 in June. 1 in July. I have only been a member since 10/2014. I find it extremely hard to believe that 762 people actually loaded my profile based on my activity. My guess is the profile views number includes all hits, like Google bots and other automated crawlers.
  12. People who are interested can find this stuff for themselves, but thanks for polluting our hunting board with your paranoid fantasies. Also, your disclaimer about not caring about the responses means you're just a spammer.
  13. Wow you're really down on Obama, eh? Here is a nifty chart showing how wrong you are: As you can see illegal immigration was growing during during the first Bush, continued to climb through Bill Clinton and all the way until the closing years of Bush the second. Illegal immigration has actually fallen during Obama's tenure. Maybe you have some further ideas on how the rate could fall further - I'm sure the White House is standing by for your well-reasoned and detailed plans.
  14. Illegal immigration will never be stopped. Your post is all complaining, no solution in sight.
  15. Sooooooo....did any non-white members answer this thread and the OP question, or is this still a thread where various bigots go to explain how their dirty racist flag means pride and freedom or whatever?
  16. If you couldn't care less about my reply, you would not have spent the time to type that. Ergo...you lie, just like your "somebody". However, I do care. I care about idiots spreading hate and propaganda and other lies. The only way to fight your speech is with more speech. So keep posting, and I'll keep calling you out (you don't have to read my posts, I don't mind).
  17. No of course not. The list above posted by our useful idiot VJP comes from another (fake) document called Communist Rules For Revolution which has been circulating since the 1940s. Someone modified it slightly and slapped Alinsky's name on it and there you go. If you know anything at all about Saul Alinsky is that he would never ever advocate "increasing the poverty level as high as possible" - that's the very antithesis of what he worked to achieve. The claim that he advocated "controlling health care" is also not plausible, he died long before health care costs were an issue - seems very anachronistic for him to advocate that. Here are the actual thirteen "power tactics" that come from Saul Alinsky's 1971 Rules For Radicals: I'm going to use Saul's fifth rule here: Hey VJP, do you live in the modern age? Have you ever heard of the internet? I hear it has a lot of information on it. Like if some propagandist posts a bunch of lies in the interest of vilifying others, interested people can go verify that information. Or debunk it. Do yourself a favor and do a quick search for the next nonsense you post - if you can find out that it's all a big lie on the first page of search results, chances are others will too ;p
  18. I will never understand why people get kicks out of calling others idiots and telling them they're wasting their time because they don't enjoy a very specific activity that others do. I guess they have nothing more interesting to do with their lives.
  19. I live in a community where it's not usual for someone to light off a star shell mortar at 10:30pm on a Thursday. Big party atmosphere, lots of summer rentals, 40 mins to Matamoras. I've become quite good at differentiating between the various types of fireworks as well as the regular celebratory gunfire. My wife is cringing on the couch and I'm like it's ok honey, that's just a Swashbuckler 72-shot, only about 40 more shots to go
  20. Bottle rockets? Rockets are still illegal. A recent change in New York State Penal Law now allows for the sale and use of a specific category of consumer fireworks known as Sparkling Devices. Sparkling Devices are ground based or handheld devices that produce a shower of colored sparks and or a colored flame, audible crackling or whistling noise and smoke. The law limits the type, size and construction of Sparkling Devices and requires that these devices must be hand held or mounted on a base or spike... http://www.dhses.ny.gov/ofpc/news/sparklingdevices.cfm
  21. You guys consider sparklers to be fireworks? If you can't launch a bottle rocket in NYS then fireworks are illegal as far as I'm concerned.
  22. Nothing like taking a nice long scouting hike through the woods and finding pieces of silver mylar hanging from branches.
  23. What, you want a point by point breakdown of how every single one of those statements is just an opinion? Then you want to argue those points? No one cares about convincing you. Sorry.
  24. This has nothing to do with Canada. In fact that list wasn't written by a Canadian. You can tell it wasn't because of: "responsible for our tax code" Why would a Canadian complaining about Timothy Geithner write "our" tax code? Hint: Because he was an American. This copypasta has been circulating on the internet for years now and it's on roughly 70,000 pages now.
  25. For GPS I use this http://gps.motionx.com/ Waypoints, tracks, etc has it all. $.99 well spent.
