Just the way he was talking made it sound like they were & he was reasoning against it maybe just the way I read it? -

Anyone else read this? just saw it this AM it sounds like DEC is thinking about statewide AR's? http://www.wellsvilledaily.com/article/20141110/SPORTS/141119990/10200/OPINION/?Start=1 -
what I have read on deer ticks Unlike some other tick species, deer ticks (Ixodes scapularis) are particularly susceptible to desiccation, or drying out. They can only survive short periods in places where the atmospheric moisture content (relative humidity) is less than say 90%. In one experiment, most of the nymphal deer ticks exposed to 75% humidity for 8 hours died, even after being returned to 96% humidity. In a typical house environment, unfed deer ticks are not likely to survive even 24 hours. Ticks on moist clothing in a hamper can survive 2-3 days. Ticks that have taken a blood meal may survive a bit longer but certainly not the 30+ days it takes to mature and bite again or lay eggs.

JOSEPHMARTN I was going to ask the same sounds like OP may have been pushing the deer if that is the case he could go a ways

Congratulations on one heck of a buck & I am out of Likes

Deer here in NH are loaded with them. We have taken deer that has had hundreds on them. Like others have said take precaution when dressing out the deer & get the hide off ASAP usually within an hour of the deer being dead the ticks will be dropping off as they need to live off a live host. also the hide skins better when the deer is warm

Congratulations Grow That is an Awesome deed right there!!!!

Don't let the size of it bother you. I don't to this day! For me it is putting Veni in the freezer Congratulations on your first Bow kill

Just an FYI: It would have been under warranty but I think you did the right move as it would have had to been shipped back to Ruger & you would have been without your rifle for a few days Glad you fixed it. We shot ours yesterday & still impressed with how these things shoot
-
I believe all they did with that model is make a heavier barrel & threaded everything else is the same. Could be just needs to be broke in a bit. Sucks you got one like that they are a great shooting rifle for the money

My crew of 4 all have Ruger American's (2) .308's & (2) 30.06's none of them are any louder then any other tang safety's I have used slight click I would contact Ruger their CS is awesome & if it is an issue they will take care of it quick

SORRY Happy Belated Birthday

this is a hard one for me to answer as we only spend a week hunting NY & on state land but have been going for 7-8 years but this is what I noticed over the years 8N same to slight decrease same for what we see driving past private lands only reason I see an issue with is land management on state land over the years has been less & less each year fields not getting mowed, a lot of the fields are now over grown into thickets. Hardwoods are over grown with underbrush. Areas where we used to be able to see hundreds of yards. you are lucky to see 20 yards As I stated this is hard as we only spend a week in 8N & hunt the same state land each year
-
Would have been nice for the rest of my crew last week before driving 6.5 hours to hunt NY but we are like others NO we would not! Our goal is always to have a good time no matter what. A deer kill is a bonus
-
only way we have packaged our meat for years is with a vacuum sealer Agree well woth the money
-
Hunting last week in 8N was very slow weather was not good warm with strong swirling winds Hang in there as the week ended we saw a lot more activity this week & next should be good hunting for ya
-

Growalot Prayers sent. Wish I saw this before we went home back to NH I would have been happy to have given some of my deer to you. Good luck to you as we did not have great luck in 8N last week looked like things were picking up the last Sat. & Sun.
