My first walleye skunk of the year, Cornell guy doing surveys at the launch said he hadn't had a single walleye come through today at 4pm. My buddy got a big cat though! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

Not on the water today but planning for it. Just ordered a kicker motor for my boat. Gonna make trolling at 2mph + alot easier not having to worry about batteries. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

300 hours is nothing for that year boat, I'll have that in 2 years! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

Those are beauties, I've landed 27 legal eyes since the opener on Oneida and have yet to break the 21" and change mark. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

I hope so too! They weren't fast and furious but a few were eating. Had to cover some water today. Good luck! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

Limit on Oneida today. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

I've been trolling leadcore in 35-70' of water. Spoons, flatfish and stickbaits at 2 mph. I'll stagger the leadcore also, one at 2-3 colors, one at 5 colors, one at 7 etc. If I mark a pile of fish I'll mark them on the graph and go back and jig them. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

7 Lakers and 2 rainbows today, kept the rainbows for the grill. Big taste difference between Cayuga lake and Ontario! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

I marked a lot of baitfish balls yesterday, all over. I couldn't get bit by anything in less than 30' of water, literally nothing. Even the eyes I did get were very strange bites, they'd tick it once really light, then nothing. You'd give it a second to see if they came back and nothing, pick the rod up to check bait and it's just dead weight, no head shaking. It's like they were eating it then just swimming at the same speed and direction as the boat. Weird. I did awesome this year up until the last two trips, now I can't seem to pick up that limit. I probably should've went after the weed walleyes up shallow. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

Tough day on Oneida for me. Marking fish, they just weren't having it. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

Funny you say this, I cut the scapes off of my garlic last night and ate them for the first time. Pretty good! They tasted like a garlic/green onion hybrid to me. I ate them raw though too. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

Awesome! Gorgeous boat too! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

Gave the walleyes a break and chased dinosaurs with a buddy, did pretty good. Took pics of a few of them. Got into a few Atlantic's and rainbows too. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

Went out for a few hours mid day until the wind died completely. More walleyes. The pup loves the boat too. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

Another good morning. Made plans to take a guy from work out, after waiting for 30 minutes at the launch with no response from him I left, he responded at 1pm. His loss, he won't be getting another invite. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

I trolled some crawler harnesses in the Oneida river last week and I looked over and my rod was doubled over, bouncing off the side of the boat, I'm surprised my rod holder/rod held up. I grabbed the rod and felt something thumping on there for about 3 seconds then the hook pulled. It was BIG whatever it was, I'm guessing a big cat or sturgeon. I'm still waiting for a sturgeon on Oneida. I've caught a brown trout out there, no Atlantic's yet though for me either. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

I do both, I prefer to cast for them but the harnesses are just so effective. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

Crawler harnesses at 1.1 mph for me, saw guys casting catch a few. I definitely did better than they did in the timeframe I was there though. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

I know! I had 2 within 20 minutes and was almost hoping the third would take longer. Then I reeled in and stood there in the boat asking myself "what now?" I just headed out, home by 9. My DEC buddy was out yesterday and wrote several tickets for over the limit. I can see how people push their luck when the fishing is hot. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

I planned on getting out today but the stiff east wind this morning kept me from going. Tomorrow is looking better. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

If nothing else it'll make him look like he catches fish! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

If you're in the market for a nice net, Fishpond makes some real nice ones. I have the Fishpond Nomad mid length with the deep rubber net. Works great for anything up to about 10lb steelies but things get dicey after that. It floats, which is nice, has a good length handle without being too long and has measurement markings on the handle also... Also if you're looking for an affordable sling I've used "Maxcatch" brand and for the money you won't beat them. I recently bought a fishpond belt/waist minimalist style pack which I like also, I wish it were a bit larger but has great features, the built in net holder was the selling point for me. Sling pack for me, vest is too hot. And I usually carry too much crap for a vest! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

The pup and I went out for awhile today, tons of smallies, kept a few big gills/sunnie's. My favorite freshwater fish to eat. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
