My first one is Friday. Fluids seem like a constant suggestion with them.
-
CNBC is talking about this right now, lol.

Normally I'm bullish on these giants....but people might be nervous around the value/cap and other measurables. Apple killed in last quarter and their stock took it in the face. I think people are realizing that momentum might be hard with inflation and what not on the horizon, paired with alot of that built into pricing already. I may end up just buying into them long term at this price though. Decisions decisions.
-
Possibly, I'm not in a hurry to jump in but usually there are a few that look interesting, but it's kind of bland. Maybe cruise lines out a ways if the "test" cruises go well. But that's just as much an actual stock play as it is an option.
-
What options you all looking at? Not finding a ton I like.
-
I think many people are under-educated and try to make quick money, not understanding the risk and taxes. That said alot of people have majority of investments for long term and a small % set up for "playing" with day/swing/short trades. I have about 10% of my funds in that latter. I did make a killing earlier this year, hitting on GME and AMC and ZOM. I've since pulled back and moved 90% back into my long-term...REITs, certain EV/Solar plays, and other dividend plays mostly. It can be insanely stressful...ha. I am 4 for 4 with options. Haven't done one in a month or so, but 5 for 5 sounds good, too! LOL.

He's left handed and his Weatherby branded Vanguards don't even come in a left handed model. That, while small, is part of where I think the authentic part comes off weird sometimes. He makes it a point to be authentic but brands something that isn't available in his shooting style. I get people brand things and pump them, but might not use said product....but in his case, he pitches authenticity yet does what those who pump brands do. My interpretation isn't on the whitetail side of things, it's just that it comes off as not authentic. Like I said, I'm probably myopic in view here, but it just comes off wonky. Pair that with Kenyon's quality going downhill when Rinella bought him out...and it's just more convincing for me.

Basically a radio talk show that is web-based. You download the episode to your phone, car, or listen on your computer. Many do topic specific shows, with guests/experts. Excellent way to pass the time as opposed to always listening to music, lol.
-
I can't knock the success he has had, but I'm just not a Rinella fan. Seems to work the authentic angle but he comes off as unauthentic to me, as if it's a business first and purpose second. But most other people see it the other way around, so I'm probably off on my interpretation. And, to make matters worse, I just bought a Meateater branded Weatherby. Go figure. LOL. Certainly not due to the branding. I'll be doing a podcast this week as a guest; second one for me. First on video. Nerve-wracking. I give those hosts/casters credit. It isn't easy.

Kenyon will end up doing fine for himself because he hitched his wagon to the right horse with Rinella. But, you are right about that full-time drop off. I think it had to do more with the takeover than the actual full time aspect. I think he probably gets pulled in alot of directions instead of controlling his destiny, per say. I guess it's kind of hard to knock him since he will likely benefit at a faster pace, but the genuine quality is gone. I listened to one recently and he came off almost as an industry guy, which before he never did. Shame because it reduces relatability. I think the podcast is maybe 10-20% of his gig now. I do hope he makes the $ as he was really the earliest hunting podcaster to go from zero to hero. Something to be said for being a first mover.

Meateater bought out Kenyon and wired to hunt I guess. I can't say I am a huge Meateater fan but I know alot like him/them.
-
I've not listened to THP yet, but have a few of Dudley. He knows his archery tuning, that is for sure.
-
What hunting podcasts do you listen to lately? I used to like Wired to Hunt, but it's pretty commercialized and I think Kenyon has "grown" as a host but it's MUCH less enjoyable than the early years. I used to listen to it ALOT when I was traveling weekly for work back in 15/16. WCB is a good listen for background noise as I work on stuff at the house or a car trip. It can be somewhat unrelatable as almost all of their focus in on midwest whitetail hunting, but it's also still worth a listen with other guests they have. I also can't listen to it when I'm in the office for work due to language/swearing. Alot of the others I've bounced around here and there and just not as interesting consistently.

I can't remember what K2 I had, been a while, but I remember liking it alot.

Oh great, now white privilege has entered the chat. WTF. This thread has gone sideways enough. Let's all just move on IMO.
-
he was buying options for maybe 6-7 mos before this blew up. I forget what he put in, but it was a huge multiplier. He pulled $ in November and December I think, so when this grew legs he was already a millionaire.
-
He sold a chunk early on...already a physical millionaire realized. People somehow did the math and said he cashed out somewhere around 5-7M.
-
Cory is who I think that was. I still don't understand the whole thing but that blew up. He's active on FB...works for a county white collar role.
-
This thread still going? Just checking. It's definitely off-season. I certainly don't post as much on here, but the few I like interacting with make it worthwhile. I barely post hunting related content now, and that is what I wished this site would focus on, but I just accept it for what it is, literally social media.

These shops are buying from wherever they can source the item. Certainly not from the same wholesaler. It is what is creating the variance. The whole chain is messed up as noted. The larger stores are not changing prices because they are usually locked in on buy/sell contracts to ensure they are able to get supplied first. Smaller dealers are buying one, two, three, or four times removed from the manufacturer and not consistently from the same wholesaler. That I know with confidence.
-
The number of people who are not county residents there is way more than just you. I'd guess that 40% of the shots went into non-county resident arms...ALOT of Monroe county ppl to say the least.

Just goes to prove the elderly are invisible in American society
phade replied to Grouse's topic in General Chit Chat
I don't see the connection, too. I think a more obvious point would be some elderly person on a street in a blanket vs. a multi-millionaire shopping in a high end grocery store and whining about not being noticed. I don't suspect he is feeling too down about himself or that others think he is invisible. -
Make sure you post up final project. I'm doing a barrel pedestal for the three bucks I took this year. Still not sure how to tie it all together. most of the barrel pedestals using the mounting bracket leave the base alone with no habitat. Yours looks similar in thought, using the fence posts as the feature supporting the mounts. I picked up a barrel and a week later I saw someone turn a barrel into a whiskey bar, opening the barrel up. My head is spinning, lol.

Or how people have the grit to follow through with a decision THEY made. Stop blaming other people.
