RH is easiest but that opens up a hornet's nest as you don't "own" it persay.

WNY Armstrong Fiber internet - who has it?
phade replied to Crazed98Camaro's topic in General Chit Chat
The new fibertech companies are laying very high speeds down. It is slow progress though. Once you get it....you won't look back. -
It is indeed crazy.

Where data starts to get muddy is this is the same issue as the AZ vaccine; both J&J and AZ are using the same methodology vs. Pfizer and Moderna. It is super low frequency but it is a serious issue because treatment is not easy. They better fix/solve the issue and perception because those two vaccines are to be the dominant type worldwide given the logistics challenges in lower infrastructure countries.

Dead is dead; don't care if Covid is the cause or an accelerator. I've seen enough of it to know I don't want COVID; I also educated myself on the risks and rewards and got Moderna. Could there be downstream impacts? Yup, but it is what it is. One of the things I've learned in big corporate space is that there are usually good people at the core; somewhere, some lab, some guy like you and me, said - I got it, creating the vaccine. Doing things for the right reason. It's not an infallible rule, but for the large majority, people do stuff for the right reason. The data I can see and find across many sources made me content with the decision I made. Skepticism is good, it is necessary and needed to make the world go round; but at a certain point skepticism can be just as much of an affliction as being a blind sheep. At that point it's not skepticism but I don't think we've developed an appropriate English word for when it becomes a hinderance to logical rationale/decision-making. Initial takes are that this J&J could have small issue with women and blood clots. 6 out 7M; nobody wants to be the 6, so hence the pause. I do agree start stop becomes a big issue because Americans are not super agile in iterative processes.

That mullet! Buck and Lady Killer!

Thanks for all of the dialogue and suggestions. It was a fun trip. The weather didn't co-operate too much but we made the best of it. Food was probably the highlight of the trip - we had fantastic meals from Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Not a single critique! We walked right at 40 miles over three days covering ground. Feeling it today.

Somehow we made it through Central Park and are chugging away pina coladas at some tiki bar in UWS. UWS seems pretty nice and manageable.

That’s what we’ve been doing. Liberty Bagels and then up for some window shopping, St Patrick’s, and what not. Got a bit wet so we’re trying to air out with some coffee and a dry seat.

Dude - we went to Eataly yesterday for lunch. Our family is Sicilian. We were awestruck. Unreal. Also slightly embarrassed at just how good it was compared to our family recipes and home cooking.

We have a Wolfgang next door. Times Square?

So, we have a bit of a rainfest going on this AM. What are some things we can do given the rain? We’re midtown and have to be at the Natural History Museum at 3. we had planned the boat ride this am but no go on that. We had an excellent meal at Quality Meats. The corn creme brûlée was out of this world. Let alone the steaks. Some girl from Belarus was our waitress and she was awesome.

We were going to go to Quality Meats tonight but all they have is outdoor dining! Edit...we’re gonna do the outdoor dining. Heck the place looks good online!

We're flying into JFK and out of LGA. Part of me is debating just taking a taxi or Uber to Times Square from JFK vs trying the LIRR incoming...thoughts? Not sure about that part.

LOL. Hilton Honors for the win. I'd say my work hotel stays are 90% Hilton and 10% Hyatt. This is my homebase...I've probably lived somewhere between 7-9 months of my entire life in this building.

It's small and growing. It'll look like what everyone "thinks" it'll look like by end of summer. Injuries tend to have lighter skin/flesh coloration IMO - this darker base and the "pushed away" hide tell me its something growing out not from something coming in. Again, just my opinion. if it were a slug hole, I'd think it's be a bit more traumatic looking. Who knows. Maybe it is.

Appreciate the heads up - I almost booked that place due to the Hilton family, but opted for the Hampton Inn down the street. Not a surprise I guess. We'll make the best of it.

I click with my mouth to stop them. Ever hear a buck click? You hear that and it's probably your best day in the stand all season.
-
Where's the other buck? That is what I want to know.

I'll admit to having a mental heirarchy of deer kills via implements but that lasts for maybe five seconds before reality kicks in and a big buck is a big buck. One of the mental hurdles I have is when a hunter is gun only vs a multi implement user, namely bow and gun - if they both kill the same size buck in gun, I'll think the bowhunter earned it more. Not sure why but I devalue from a bias the gun only hunter. It's just a mental hurdle for some reason. Heck the bowhunter might have been a poor bowhunter which is why he relied on gun season - but even in that I connect the effort to reward. I never let it impact my outward reaction or congrats, but I have a hard time valuing the accomplishment similarly unless I know that hunter and who they are (IE their dedication, effort, etc.). Its assumptive, generalizing, and not conducive but it is my initial gut reaction internally. Xbow blurs that line for me somehow. I support inclusion and hopefully it'll help me to assume the best in people. I know I value xbow when I was hurt in 2019...if not for that, I'd have sat inside for my rutcation. Ended up shooting a piebald. I wasn't going to let an xbow rob me of that experience. Someday I'm going to kill a deer with a self made bow and arrow set-up and do it wearing a loin cloth. LOL.

agreed hotdogs have always been my #1 bait for them.

I have yelled at bucks more than I can remember. One buck ran around me three times over the course of two hours chasing a doe and the third time he slowed up enough to shoot. I'm pretty sure I was yelling obscenities at him. In the peak of the hard chasing, it can be darn near impossible to get a buck to pay attention to his immediate surroundings beyond the does/competing bucks. Outside of the rut, I don't do it as much. Used to, but less now. I use clicks more now just to bring a deer to a pause for a shot but that has also backfired too.

I have some similar perspective in that sense. If I wanted to pay the bills, I wouldn't be doing what I am. I could do something much more enjoyable work wise rather than some white collar office business leader. It's way too much (non enjoyable) work and effort for that. I will admit I suffer from grass is greener on the other side lol - when in office, the guys talk about what they would do to trade places with the ones outside running the zero turn passing by the windows. I think it is human nature to some degree. Instead what I do allows me to change family trajectories potentially and affords me the things I want to achieve outside of work. I certainly understand purpose-driven is a growing career "thing" in America, but generationally, I think it's hard for me to accomplish purpose and financial security. I do hope somewhere between 45-50 I find a path that allows me to simplify. I can't see me doing this at 50 - I'll be running the tank on E.
