They showed up this a.m. Ive been wearing them all day today. Driving to cabelas then dicks. They are incredibly comfortable boots. Warm, stiff but you still have good movement, great ankle support. Love them so far.

For Christmas my awsome wife got me a pair of Crispi Guide GTX boots for the hunt. They were on my wish list and i wasnt sure if i would pony up the money for boots. They should be here tomorrow! Plus cash from other family for purchasing more gear. Will be at Cabelas tomorrow to pick up a Jetboil and maybe some other stuff.

Some gear showing up. Nothing too exciting yet. Marsupial gear bino harness and first lite brambler gaiters. Plus my Idaho hunting license showed up today.

Same, it has been years since i havent filled a buck tag in bow or gun. Had 1 opportunity during bow that i wasnt comfortable with the shot, no opportunitys during gun. Small bucks yes but nothing that interested me.

It wasnt attached to the liver, or the small lobe off the bottom of it either.

Welp not the buck i was looking for but 1 last good doe for the freezer. Saw a 4pt this a.m. with a unknown deer. This doe came in with another and 2 button bucks at 430, onto muzzloader. Ive gutted alot of deer through the years, maybe ive never paid attention but does this deer have 2 livers? Or is that another organ ive never noticed? Large spleen?

I puchased a Christensen arms rifle that the action and barrel are cerakoted. I like it so far, been in snow and rain this year. I still wipe it down after hunts and it has stayed in a heated room throughout the season.

I have a older vx3 3.5-10x40 on a rifle, i also just purchased a zeis conquest v4 4-16x44. The zeis is definitely brighter than the older leupy. Its the objective but just newer glass with better coatings. Got a good deal on the zeiss as a demo model. Tube size has nothing to do with light transmission its all elevation and windage adjustment amount.

Figured id update this a little. Tags went on sale Dec. 1st, my buddy and i were fortunate enough to both get salmon zone B tags for elk. He got 36B for mulies, and i got 28. Those are touching units and ive been doing alot of e scouting on the border of the units. Ill say ON X maps has been huge with the amount of info you can layer on the maps. We also picked up grey wolf tags, from what ive read they are pretty prominent in the area and Idaho wants you to take them if you can.

Ponds good, probably 4' from being full. Will definitely be filled up by spring thaw.

Nice calm morning hoping to see some buck movement. Havent seen antlers since opening day of gun. Goodluck to all that are out.

My son got his first yote last night. I let the dogs out and scanned the field, this guy was chowing down on a deer carcass i have staked down. We made our move back and the yote moved out to around 200 yards. I barked to stop him and my son made a good shot, the yote ran about 100 yards and piled up. 49lb old male.

The thermal is on a 224 valkyrie, i know its not a recoil issue, not sure what it is. I have to shoot it again and see if the zero moved.

It said a half hour prior everyone signed in will be put in a virtual waiting room. Well we logged in around 1115ish and were immediately put in the waiting room. You are then randomly issued a place in line. My buddy got 4126, i got 6040... Then u wait, and wait, and wait. Occasionally the site updates and shows u what has sold out already. It caused sooo much anxiety lol. When ur up u select your tags and pay. We both got salmon region for elk, which we wanted. And he got unit 36b for deer i got 28. They border each other so thats fine.

And i got my elk tag! Hell yea, idaho 2022!!!

My buddy got his tags...im still 879 away from purchasing.

More meat for the freezer. Just started walking out back at 8, as last night was a late night if bowling and beverages. Made 1/4 of the way to the stand i was going to, slowly walking and scanning. Look left and 80 yards away a lage group of doe are watching me. Raise the gun and freezer queen down.
