  1. Well things change fast in the turkey woods! Wasnt hearing anything so i moved back into my pines about 100 from were i was. Just sat down and heard a gobble maybe 60 yards in some thick stuff, next second i see a white head pop out. Gave 2 light yelps and he turned to his right cleard some trees and at 40 yards i dropped him! First spring turkey for me! First tom ever!
  2. Well this stinks. My one neighbor gave me full use of his property during turkey. He called this week to ask if its ok to have a family member hunt his land. I obviously said its your land let him hunt. Talked to the guy yesterday, nice guy. Well now the gobbler is goin off in that direction and im stuck here...goodluck to him.
  3. By far the earliest ive ever been sitting in the woods for a turkey...hope it pays off. Good luck
  4. Question, when one is gobbling on roost how close do u try to get. This a.m. i was probably 100 yards away but i spooked a group of 8 deer when i was putting the hen decoy out. They mustve spooked him because next gobble i heard was 150 yards to my left. I will also add it was light out...its hard waking up to chase a bird.
  5. Thanks, yea ive been doin some homework on this and it seems $10k is the average cost for this size pond. Thanks again.
  6. If u dont mind me asking, about how much is it costing for the pond to be dug? My wife and i are thinking about it for next year. Thanks.
  7. I run sythetic, a little advise when plowing swithch to a roller fairland, and in the summer run a hawse fairland. The synthetic will snap after alot of plowing if not using the roller, its because the low angle the rope attaches to the plow it will rub on the hawse fairland. I snapped mine a few times last winter. Pic is hawse fairland. Also i bought my rope off ebay, wasnt expensive for 2500lb synthetic cable.
  8. Ive been using ours for probably 10 years. No melting washers. Try using meat that is almost frozen, should grind easier than warm meat with all the tendons ur trying to grind. I do 2-4 deer a year in ours.
  9. The way ive heard it, if its required to wear orange and billy bob sees movement and doesnt see orange hes feels safer to shoot. I guess it should make u think twice about shooting at movement. I wear orange bibs during gun, always seem to kill deer.
