Brisket was a success. Celebrated my 36th birthday and my sister-in-laws 37th. Fed 12 adults and 6 rugrats. Also put a nice dent in a BDay gift!

Ice cold on a hot day... not too bad.

Well, it’s almost noon.

Now the hard part... waiting to eat!

I missed the stall... when I first checked it it was 175-180. Wrapped it and will be done a little earlier than expected. I threw a chunk of venison on too. I’m taking notes and learning as I go. I’m sure no matter what I do it won’t be too bad... plus most of us will be drunk by mealtime anyway.

Dinner with wife and kiddo tonight then drinks with friends after. Allegedly we are taking it easy for Brisket BBQ Birthday party tomorrow.

14lb brisket is trimmed and rubbed. She’s going on the smoker tomorrow night. Trial and error at its finest!

Well the beach isn’t tropical and the lunch isn’t gourmet... but I’ll take it!

The day is starting off pretty good! Tater topper egg with fresh herbs + veggies on salt bread with some Cholula hot sauce.

The little grocery store down the street has it... we limit ourselves to grabbing 1 loaf a week.

Grilled salmon and squash with a few slices of salt bread.
