  1. LOL yea he's got a unique "acorn" tip on his right G3.
  2. My biggest by far taken last year in Suffolk County with the bow. Grossed 138".
  3. No need to freak man....This is supposed to be fun! So what if you dont get EVERY stand hung that you wanted, you can still hang some after the season opens. I do it all the time. Just try to relax a bit and have fun...
  4. thats always nice to see. Future thunderchickens!
  5. I used muzzys for years, hence the name lol. I shot a buck one year and noticed the blades were bent over in half like a peice of paper. I didnt like that plus I was getting bored and wanted to try something new so I switched to the spit maxx. Love them! Hellrazors are a good head too. I like that you can touch up the blades on a stone.
  6. Yea I have access to a private piece that is adjacent to a large peice of unhunted county land. It's a real gem. I basically found out who owned it and where he lived, knocked on the door and asked and he said sure! Now I know this is not the typical situation but I got real lucky and found a great property to hunt with the nicest owner i've ever met. It has been 2 years now and I continually have to kick other guys out and take stands down but its worth it; I killed my biggest buck ever last season on this piece.
  7. what are we looking at here people? I dont see a pic
  8. I guess I just want him to be a lot bigger than he is?? LOL He is still a beast compared to the pics of the dinker I got last year. Could it be the same bear just a year older?? Anyone know if these guys have a core area or set home range?
  9. Thanks for the input guys! Here are a few more. Keep the estimates coming.
  10. What do you guys think on the size of this bear? Im just curious. My old man thinks its only 125 lbs max. I say double it. This is on our property in 4G.
  11. Im just glad to have gotten a bird this year. Congrats to all who smacked one (or two)!
  12. mating must be over and they're looking to bachelor up again.
  13. thats awesome man congrats!!!
  14. CONGRATS ELMO! I am expecting my first as well! Except I mounted my doe during the rut and the fawn is due in August!
  15. Some nice bucks on that property John!
  16. I hunted conesville for years. I shot some nice bucks there but not the caliber that we see now. Like others say, you need food, water and cover. The cover cannot be disturbed at all. The thicker and nastier the better. Basically if your quad riding through every acre of your property your not going to hold many deer. Designate a section of the property off limits to all (has to be big enough) and get in there with a chainsaw in the off monthes and make it as impenetrable as possible. That is the #1 best tip I ever got and it works! Just curious, what road are you off of? I was on Blakesly Rd off Hubbard/Bull Hill.
  17. I was up this weekend at my farm and got on a Tom both days but he was henned up. He gobbled at everything I said but would not leave the ladies. This turkey was unusual because he never made a peep on the roost but as soon as he hit the ground he gobbled every minute. Quite the opposite of what we're used to. Made for a challenging but fun hunt even though I didnt pop him.
  18. i think we are in the lull. Ive heard turkeys gobble on memorial day for crying out loud. Just keep hunting its only for a month! Next month you guys will be crying about how much you miss it.....Just hunt and try to have fun!
  19. I am trying for that bear too! I have them on cam at night or during the day in the summer. They are elusive thats for sure!
  20. I would've bet money you would have at least heard something this morning with the approaching front....i guess thats turkey hunting!
  21. Once you plucked the feathers how did you hold them all in place for the glue part? How did you glue them together?
  22. That first pic is great! The cam got him mid-gobble!
  23. I determined the NY slam....I was just curious to see who took all these animals in NY and it doesn't have to be in the same year. I threw coyote in there simply because its the largest of the "small game" predators.
