Bring a friend or two....these events are an awesome way to meet fellow hunters and anglers and swap stories and/or make new contacts over a beer (or bourbon, if you choose). Would love to meet you there!

Come to the NYC Pint Night at American Whiskey on January 16th and you might be able to convince me, lol. @ATbuckhunter should be there too.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to let people know that the NY Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers will be holding a Pint Night in NYC at American Whiskey (247 W 30th St, New York, NY 10001- about a block or so from Penn Station) on January 16th at 6pm. This is a really cool venue and the event will be held in their loft. This will be an awesome opportunity for forum members to meet up and grab a few beers while meeting other hunters and fisherman in the NYC area. We had a few forum members come to our last pint night in Brooklyn and it was a great time. Would love to meet some of you at this event if you are around and interested! I have a Barronette Big Cat and it withstood two heavy, wet snowfalls of at least 6". The blind collapsed under the weight both times, but once cleaned off, I was able to put it back up with absolutely no issues. I thought for sure that it was done after the second time since the snow was mixed with ice and it was HEAVY. Those things are tough!

Thanks for pointing that out. Was thinking the same thing and wondering when someone would make the distinction between the two. Also like to point out to the OP that hunters don't "catch" deer. It sounds like you might be a new hunter based on using this term and it will save you alot of ballbusting in the future if you don't refer to killing deer as "catching" deer.

I still haven't gotten mine yet either. Called DEC on Monday and finally got a message from them today. They said that it must have been lost in the mail and to go to a Dick's or another license issuing location and have them reprinted for free. I call BS....I think that that is what they are telling everyone that hasn't received them yet instead of admitting their incompetence.

Still don't have mine either, but my dmp's came yesterday. In the letter that came with the dmp's, it says that for lifetime licenses "you should receive your license and carcass tags no later than September 1."

I am originally from the Adirondacks. My folks still live there and that's where I hunt. Believe me, I wish I was still living up there most of the time. I met a great woman from Queens and that's where I live now, so I guess you could say that love brought me down here, lol. The deal we made was that we will be retiring up there, so at least it gives me something to look forward to!

That's too bad, but understood. We will be having more things going on throughout the year, so maybe we'll catch you at one of those!

Just wanted to remind anyone that might be interested that we will be having our pint night in Brooklyn tomorrow. We will have several great raffles as well as merchandise available.
