  1. Thank you! Yes, he came in slowly with a doe, from my left side basically from 10 o’clock position. My front window was open, non others. They both decided to turn right, maybe 15 yards out. As they both slowly walked by to my left 9 o’clock, then 8 o’clock position, they were now in between windows, so i turned myself around, and slid the rear window open. It get relatively thick back in there, and usually do not see deer travel through there, so i never made a long shooting lane back in there. At this point the doe walks about 15 yards a head of the buck, buck is just rubbing on brush...so I see where she walked through, a I am trying to think ahead now at this point, so I look for a window of shot opportunity. I find one, and set myself up looking through the scope, to see if I can notice anything in the scope I hadn’t seen by eye. It looked good, I just needed him in a very precise spot/distance from me to be CLEAR. It was my time because he followed her, and stopped exactly where I needed him to. I was already in position, safety off, etc, once he stopped, I shot.
  2. Congratulations John! I just saw this
  3. A lot of you guys, and gals, are already aware, but here is my first crossbow deer, and biggest antlers yet. I am beyond grateful. Mission MXB400 Sullivan County 3K
  4. When you’re right....you’re RIGHT....and if that’s wrong, I don’t wanna be right!!!!
  5. Thank you! Yeah, low deer density in this area. Not an excuse, but obviously I can always improve. I have passed up bucks I probably shouldn’t have, and don’t shoot does here, plus it’s difficult to get doe tags in this zone even if I wanted too. I find it special since its home, just means more to me taking a nice buck at home, versus my work spot. It just goes deeper to me than just hunting. Hope that makes sense. @Chef
  6. Thank you! I am very grateful for that deer, means a lot. I can’t believe it happened! We can’t wait to have venison in the freezer, been about 5 yrs honestly since its been stocked. Thanks again!!
  7. Hopefully one day I make a gtg up & over to you guys, and we can change that! Appreciate that a lot thank you.
  8. Thanks!! Definitely shoulder mount, not sure yet on anglebut I love sneaks because of the height he will be on wall.
  9. To all who have commented on my deer, my mind is still in a million places from today, but I wanted to say thank you. You guys all have always routed for me, and always have sent good luck to me, and I have always appreciated that. Obviously, I do not get deer very often, but I honestly put every spare moment I can into sitting in the woods, and when these days happen, it just means so much more. This honestly puts tears into my eyes because this is something I have waited so long for. It is rut, and I probably got lucky, but some years up here in zone 3K I have not even see a deer. Its crazy, I am just pumped. Good luck everyone! Congrats to all the other folks who were successful today too! Im out of likes!
  10. 7 pointer! BBD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my biggest buck to date, and first crossbow deer. Sullivan County 3k at home. Basically in tears happy. BBD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Shot an 8 pointer, deflected on a twig but got him pretty good. Gave it an hour, and slowly went directly to where he flopped over. As I slowly approach he was GONE. So i turn around, and boom there he is bedded, scared the heck out of me, I was whispering to jenn on phone, so i drop phone, and picked up crossbow, and he took off. I was pretty hard on myself, and badmouthed myself like nothing else. So, I turned back to walk home to give it 5-6 hrs. As I am walking back, maybe 10 steps in hes bedded 10 yards, so i got him again, now he is done. I stayed put and watched him die another 30 yards away. It is really bothering me what I put him through but I am glad he is passed on now.
  12. Been in for a bit, 5 doe are aimlessly wandering around. Good luck Don! And everyone else
  13. No luck, sat dark to dark as usual. One young illegal buck at first light, and nothing until last light, which was a doe.
  14. I made a pie with fresh mozzarella, and cheese/parsley sausage.
  15. One buck before legal very small/illegal either way, and one doe at last light
  16. Looked at the pic at first, and thought your crossbow was not pulled back, so i asked you that. I must be dizzy from watching all these squirrels running everywhere 5x each. Finally noticed it was pulled back, so i edited it, assuming you saw that post already.
