Not a problem, enjoy. I went with the 12’ hose to keep the tank outdoors. Like I said as far as what I read, you don’t *need* a filter on some hoses..but for 10 or 12 bucks, i would be a fool not to use one, this deep in already, what’s $10 is how I look at it. Enjoy that heat, i am loving it. 68 degrees on low, and shoes off. The best part of this enclosed tower is not ever being winded by deer.

Congratulations again, very happy to see this, Jay always texted me these past 2 seasons i’d say, trying to keep me motivated, so to see him get a giant is GREAT NEWS. You’re a good person G-Man.

Looks to be, but I had a hose with that connection that would not work on my 20 lb tank, I returned it, also get yourself a filter before you use that hose. Some hoses have thin coating of oil inside the hose, that on the initial lighting, can coat the igniter/etc making it a real nuisance to get fired up, thats what I read anyhow. A filter is about $10. Tractor Supply keeps all of these accessories in stock.

My first big buck, the one that has changed everything for me, I shot at 10:43am. That deer has motivated me like no other as far as hunting goes, to the point that when I read/hear someone is going out at 9-9:30 until 2-2:30, I cringe. I also do mot understand why so many say do not overpressure your stands, yet some of the same guys are notorious for leaving, and coming back to the same stand....i am no expert at all, but to me that is putting double the pressure on that stand. I am veering off topic now.

Saw the usual 5 doe yesterday right at 4, they bedded down keeping me in late, but I was able to not spook them. I am out again for full day sit 3. 3K 43 degrees, windy, rain overnight, cloudy, still pretty dark actually. Let’s see what happens. -
Congrats, very nice. What town if you don’t mind me asking? I grew up right up the road.

Brown sugar, Cumin, salt/pepper let sit sit overnight. Delicious -
Just my honest opinion, but I think that when all these guys you hear sighting in their guns the weekend prior to the opener, alert deer that bad times are coming...and that the deer that are experienced for the most part lay low. I am sure that I will catch flack for this, but I notice that where I hunt deer sightings drop immensely near gun opener, but I also feel like gun opener is always near the mid, to end of rut anyways. I saw one nice buck yesterday pass by twice, that I let go. It was a great experience

I try to picture where the sun rises, and sets at the particular location...then try, and find trees/branches that block where I feel the suns rays will be glaring on the camera.

Its worth the wait! -
I dropped my deer off Monday. I wont use anyone else. Expensive, but great people to deal with, and I don’t have to worry. A lot of horror stories about wrong poses, extremely long wait time, etc from OTHER taxi shops in the area. Don’t hesitate. I would speak to Bob, or his son. The woman behind the desk knows her stuff to a point, but found her to be more into her phone this particular visit. The father, and son, are extremely genuine, and that means a lot to me when we are dealing with memories of a lifetime, its not worth saving $100-$200 elsewhere in my opinion. I hope this helps

I was thinking the same thing Moho, i have the same heater going right now too. Enjoy.

What have you lost or broken in the field this year?
Bionic replied to goosifer's topic in Deer Hunting
When the guys at work “lose” only a right side glove, I get blamed lol. I have not lost anything this year, but last year I lost my battery cover to my crossbow scope, i was bored, and unscrewed it, cover and battery went flying. -

I like that euro idea, that is a great idea. That is indeed unfortunate about other hunting buddies. It is difficult to describe what my point is, but the way you have wall decorations from harvests in memory of buddies who have passed, goes well with how I always say hunting is so much deeper than what people think hunting is. There are just so many aspects of hunting that form bonds between the people, the land, the coat such n such wore prior to being handed down, the rifle, the actual animal, the field dressing knife....on, and on, and on.

Sorry to hear this Wolc, a little comfort at least in the coincidence of your book opening up that way, i’d say. I lost my Grandpa 2 yrs ago on the 19th of November, obviously I always think about him, but when SZ gun opens, he is on my mind even more. I have his old Thermos, that he used every single day working, so I often bring that when I hunt. Anyways, this topic isn't about him.

I left my tower at 11am, went to attend my nephews first bday party. I am back up in my tower now. -
I have had my best season ever as far as legal buck sightings(3 point rule is what I am referring to as “legal”), here in western 3K. I passed up a nice tall 6 this morning. My 7 cameras on 5 acres, show seeking for about 3-4 weeks. Slowing up now, but where I work in 3M my coworker has not been seeing much of any deer since October first, and he has entirely different properties to hunt, that are 10-15 mins apart. He has seen deer, but a lot of days nothing. Where he hunts that is the extreme opposite of what he usually sees. EHD area though where he is, so who knows. My 37 mile “commute” to work I am hardly seeing roadkill deer. Last Monday, I saw 3 small bucks whacked by cars, Forestburgh, and 17 by Wolf Lake. I know a gentleman up in Livingston Manor, he is not seeing much either, cameras as well for him. I don’t know if any of this has any value to you. @Whereareyoubuck What you describe is what a typical season for me is here in 3K. I typically never see legal bucks on cam once velvet is off, if I do its a one time camera sighting. I have gone seasons here never seeing a deer at all. Some years does, after does, after does, and never a legal buck, or even close to legal. I know your frustration/concern. Just keep at it
