  1. This last week bucks were cruising in 3M by Scotchtown/Goshen, I have heard the same about 3M being silent these past few mornings at least. Afternoons were better for whom I received this info from. 3K was hot this week, ghost town so far today.
  2. I typically see the deer before I hear them. I do pay attention to squirrels though, when the gray’s bark, and the red’s sound like rattlesnakes....I pay extra close attention for deer movement, pretty thick woods here.
  3. I have been dying to do such a hunt. I might try this before NZ regular ends if I haven’t filled my tag.
  4. Im up for my first official sit in my tower, good luck everyone!
  5. I remember you saying that, I have told guy’s i know about that as well. Still prefer without, I’m an odd one.
  6. This is how I feel with ground venison. I like ground venison without suet added. I also feel the same about breakfast sausage, I like regular country pan style, nothing added to it with sweet flavors. I guess I have never liked sweet, unless it was an actual dessert. Same thing with ham, or those nasty sweet potato casserole dishes with the marshmallows melted on them, cannot do it. If I want sweet just frisbee me over that punkkkin pie!
  7. Thank you, and you are right, I will be back out with it. I also did not go bow hunting too much because, I feel like i burn my spots out during it. Since I have started bow hunting about 5 yrs ago, I notice less, and less deer closer we get to regular season, compared to when I ONLY rifle hunted. I have seen a complete positive difference, as far as trail cams, and the few hunts I have sat. All in all, I said before I bought my compound bow, that I at least wanted to get one deer with it, and that I have done.
  8. I don’t like the sweetness of it.
  9. Grilled chicken with smoked sea salt, fresh chopped garlic, fresh ground pepper, and asparagus, sprinkled with grated parmigiana cheese
  10. The EHD area of region 3 is very hit, or miss from what I see/hear locally. Where I work, we have 2 decent sized ponds, where deer are numerous, ZERO deer found on this property. Literally 5 miles away on the Wallkill River, several have been found. I know a gentleman who found 9 within a few hr kayak stroll on that river one afternoon. Just adding this for reference for you for whatever it may be worth.
  11. It never gets old, and there are a ton of bear in the area! One year I lost count at 23 bear sightings, some years I see none.
  12. I am off Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday! So 5 straight days from dark o’clock to dark o’clock, I will be in my new tower! Im pumped!
  13. Ugh, Internet router took a dump today, nice and early to make Jenn’s day horrible working from home. Point to all this? I left work at my normal 3:30, zoomed over to Best Buy, grabbed a new router, rushed the hour home, to see two legal bucks in yard, and a doe. One of these days I tell you, it’s allll going to pan out lol. 2 different bucks.
  14. Had a longer than normal day today, and once I got home, I smelled something that stunk GOOD. Jenn made some sort of Greek dish that was awaiting me. Its a good life. It has wild rice, ground beef, feta, chopped dill pickles, and a dill sour cream sauce
  15. Both pair well with Bionic’s Tater topping, or Bionic’s Cow Shit
  16. Thank you Moog! A little challenging with only 5 acres here at home, the 80 out back that I have sole permission to hunt on...the land owner is an absolute panicked nutjob. I could tell you stories for hours, but its not like me to badmouth people. I appreciate the permission, but just for a hint of what I am dealing with, the landowner does not want coyotes taken, and when she sees a coyote deer kill, she insists its poachers. I have never in almost 10 yrs had a stranger on trail cam, or issues. I find myself year, after year, looking to stick to my own 5 acres. Point is, it is difficult to not burn out my 3 stands on the 5 acres, but I am disciplining myself. I am not complaining though, I truly love just being out there.
  17. Yes sir, pretty excited about it, and feeling confident. I purposely have stayed out of the woods, other than to build my tower blind(last minute thought). I noticed that the last few years, while bow hunting, that I never really saw deer. I honestly would hunt every second that I had available since bow opener...You might remember me sharing that info last year, well once crossbow started, I would see deer, then the sightings would fade until regular season, and then I would literally not see a deer during regular. I thought about when I would get legal bucks cruising on trail cam day/night....that was always around Halloween, and after, so I said this year I was only going to hunt a few times until around Halloween...seems to be working. I am thinking about taking all of next week off. Congrats again on that beast, definitely what hunting dreams are made of.
  18. Short sit tonight, saw 4 or 5 as legal ended, they kept me up in the tree until 5:30ish, once the crunching stopped i snuck down, and out
