Thanks, we’ll hopefully get her in our driveway tomorrow afternoon and I’ll spend a couple of weeks going through it and cleaning it up, but looking for the first windless day to water test it. I’ll try to be in good shape for the Fourth of July.

Bought the thing. Seven days ago I wasn’t in the market for a boat. Damn funny how these things happen! Didn't try it in the water, just on muffs. Started right up, ran smooth, sounded fine when revved up, and shifted cleanly in forward and reverse. Trim pump sounded like it should. Electric anchor seems nice, never had one on my other boats. Solid floor and transom, full fiberglass interior in good enough shape for the age. It should clean up well. Nice surprise - fore and aft livewells!! One pump replaced last year. Didn’t know it had that. Inexpensive eagle fish finder but it works. Seats are old but all in good shape. Two pedestal seats for fishing. Trailer has surge brakes. 3 point ski pylon and he threw in a tube and pair of skis. Nice guy, we shot the breeze for a half hour. $3800. I think this may have been a good buy! Trip to the bank for a withdrawal tomorrow morning!

Prayers Philo! I lost my Mom to dementia 4 years ago. She passed just shy of her 91st birthday. She had 6 years after diagnosis, but we strongly suspected it two years earlier. The last three years were progressively rough. She didn’t know who I was the last few years but did know I was someone in her life. It ran in her side of the family that I seem to take after, so I worry that it’s my fate. Live in the moment with him, and enjoy every one of those moments. It’s a damn scourge of a disease.

Still there, looked like nobody was home and it was pouring rain. Going to call this afternoon to see if I can hear it run and take a closer look at things tonight. Maybe that thing will get added to my driveway this weekend after all.

Glen Curtis Museum not too far away in Hammondsport. Old aviation, automotive, motorcycle, and industrial exhibits. I can get lost for hours in there.

Lol - took me a minute.

Gotta say she's got the nicest teeth I've ever come across...

Congratulations!! You know, every family needs a crazy uncle. I would imagine it's kind of fun being a crazy uncle - give it a go!

Good suggestion, and I think I'm doing exactly that on the way home. Here's a new twist - my wife wants us to get it. But I'm the accountant and CFO of the household and as such, do all of the fretting about things like our budget. Nonetheless, we'll be stopping by tonight if it's not pouring. At least a drive-by to see if it's still there.

I know and agree. Have to work out an angle. Bought a new Tundra within the last year also. That’s a lot of purchases for me!

Just bought a 2017 Civic for my wife. Depleted my play money somewhat.

Thanks! Looking at a Toyota or Honda small to medium sized sedan. Kind of zeroed in on a Civic. Current car is a 2015 Elantra with 210k miles. Yes, we drive a ton, lol. It’s our daily commute car. Transmission (auto) has been shifting funny for a few weeks, and since the ride in to work on Monday morning it’s making a bit of noise which seems to be getting worse. Don’t want to put any real $ into it at this point, would rather dump it on a trade. Scouring the local dealer websites for deals on Civics and/or Camrys. Hoping the boat sits quietly for a week or two. It’s parked on a village side street and I don’t see it listed on Craigslist or any other site. Shhh, I’m gonna keep it a secret.

Might be. Unfortunately as of Monday, I find myself needing to quickly replace my wife’s car. Gotta put that first. A bit bummed about it.

I haven't... yet. Hemming and hawing about for no good reason I guess. Might swing by and take a closer look after work tonight.

I run Brownings and Coverts. I have Coverts that are 6 years old and still going flawlessly. I leave them all out year round. I have 8 Coverts and have never had one go bad.

I've had some fun times at the old public launch near Charlotte in Rochester. I've been boating since the early 80's. I've seen just about everything there! Some comical times for sure, and plenty of people with just a tad too much alcohol trying to get there boat back on the trailer.

We've got two kayaks, a canoe, and a 12ft aluminum with a Yamaha 4hp. I've got that end of the spectrum covered, but the powerboat end of the spectrum is currently sitting vacant.

You're missing a third happiest day - the day he buys the next one.

2000 Starcraft 18ft Fish and Ski. A little dirty, but nice boat for the age and for what is. 125 Mercury O/B. Canvas looks brand new. Ski pylon, stereo, electric anchor. Guy is asking $4200 but already said he’d move on the price. Drove by it a few miles down the road. Sold my last power boat last spring. I haven’t heard it run but older guy who owns it says it runs smooth. I wasn’t looking for a boat, but...
